This game needed more time to cook in the oven. Thanks for giving it a play though. The idea behind the game was to have the player collect tarot cards and bring them back to the fortune teller to reveal their abilities. Once revealed, they would be applied as a permanent power-up to your player which would allow you to explore parts of the level that were inaccessible before.
The art style for this game is amazing. I love how the Vangogh-esque sprites flow along paths! The controls are pretty clunky and the gameplay is difficult. Overall, I really enjoyed the aesthetic! Great job!
That's a bug I was aware of, but I wasn't able to fix before the deadline for the game jam. I think it's the only major game breaking bug I have though. I'm sorry you ran into it!
I decided to do the game jam because I wanted a change of pace from working on my main game. Just like everyone, there's so much more I wanted to add, but I'm happy with what I accomplished. I'm thinking of expanding it since I enjoyed working on it so much during the jam.
This is my first game jam as well! I work as a software developer so I'm pretty acquainted with programming, but I don't have much experience with all other aspects of gamedev. As a solo developer, all of my skills (3d modeling, sound design, etc.) have mostly come from basic tutorials and experimentation.
