That's great news! Many players are looking forward to this game. Thank you for your hard work!

You're welcome! This sequel is too interesting not to comment on!
I see. When you rewatch a movie, you could understand something you didn't before - like a character's motive for doing something.
Ah...like, if I'm stuck in the room, so is Myrddin, so I would be forcing him to remain against his will. Then, if he is free of the room, I'll stay with him anywhere else in the game.
Before I even started playing games, I would immerse myself in books, and would feel a variety of emotions for different characters. Almost as if I was in their shoes.
I played Persona 3 portable, so that I could play as a girl. And I watched people play Persona 5 online. It really is a fun game!
I am so glad to be the one to introduce you to Vocaloid! Hmm...I imagine Myrddin having a smooth, confident voice that comes across as sarcastic in certain moments. Now I wish that I could find a character with the voice I described.
You're welcome! I love discovering new words, as well!
And I really do like DDLC, so it really makes me happy that your game resembles it.
Yeah, someone who doesn't know what they are doing, could mess up the game files.
Yeah, isolation can affect your mental health. I wouldn't want that for Myrddin.
I can't wait to find out how you can interact with objects in the background.
Oh, someone else does the artwork? That's okay. Lots of people hire artists for their game, I love the artstyle, either way.
I am happy that you liked the game, but I do not believe that I will be returning to it. Drawing in MS Paint is so hard, and drawing backgrounds would be impossible for me. Plus, I can't really think of how I would continue it.
Who is talking about Undertales artwork? I personally think it is really good.
I think I understand. As long as the character fits the story, it doesn't necessarily matter how they look. One character, however badly drawn, can work with a game, as long as you give them a good personality, and have a decent script.
Oh, sorry for the confusion. I wasn't complaining because of the aesthetic or vibe, but for a more shallow reason. (Please don't kill me!) He was adorable before, and I guess I have played too many dating sims with characters that resemble his previous sprite, and now that is more my preference.
But, as I said before, this is your game, and you should do what you want with it. If you are more accustomed to this new version, and in the end you decide that you do not like the softer version, it is your decision to keep the sprite that you like best.
Ah, well, if you want to make him an obsessive yandere, I wouldn't mind. If that is what you mean by selfish. I kind of like those types of characters.
Honestly, you shouldn't feel pressured. I really like your writing, and Myrddin's personality. You could have just made a short sequel that was a simple kinetic novel, and I would be happy if Myrddin was in it.
You're welcome! I love replying to anything that you write about this game. I am very much interested in it, and it makes me so curious.
Stay healthy, and hydrated, and enjoy your week as well.
You treat me like something worth talking with, not at.
SO adorable! That one line makes me want to hug him!
Subtle hints and missable scenes? Sounds like I might have to replay it a few times to make sure I don't miss anything. Which is good, because it gives me an excuse to play it again.
Sometimes, I play a game, and know the second playthrough won't be as fun as the first time. Like watching the same movie again, and again. But the replayability sounds promising with this game.
I already know that there is more to Myrddin than meets the eye, but I'm curious as to what you mean by that.
People are all different, so they are going to think differently, and have different opinions. Someone may have a contrasting view of a scene, but humans always have divergent points of view, however, I believe that they will all love each part of the game, either way.
I do wonder how you will balance the differing perspectives. This should be interesting to see.
As long as I can find a way to stay with Myrddin in the end, or he says that I can keep visiting him (when I play the game again), I'll be happy.
Playing a mini game that I'll lose sounds both frustrating, hilarious, and challenging, and getting life changing advice that isn't life changing sounds exactly like Myrddin~
"The experience with Myrddin is meant to feel personal. Not just “a character on a screen,” but someone you genuinely spend time with. Ideally, by the end, he feels like a close friend, even with the screen in between."
Myrddin already feels real to me, compared to a lot of other fictional characters. I can, of course, tell reality from fiction, but I use games as an escape from reality, and Myrddin really IS like a close friend. (As sad as that sounds.)
But, your description there sounds a lot like a vocaloid song called 'Glass Wall'
Let me digress for a moment, and show you some lyrics from the song, so you can understand what I mean.
Lyrics:
Can you see me?
The pixels on your screen
My voice that can reach you
The one thing that breaks through
The words that you type
They keep me warm at night
But why can't I feel you
To be there, just us two
If I could break through
Just for a day
Less than two inches from you
Yet so far away
But this glass wall between us
Won't keep us apart
I will sing out my heart
Just for you, my love
If you want to listen to the song yourself, you might want to search for Dex's version. In my opinion, Dex has the clearest voice out of the other vocaloids.
Returning to the subject, I would not mind being stuck in a room with him. I would even plead with you to give me a guide on HOW to get stuck with him.
He already feels very realistic. The conversations are very 'vérité' (it means to convey realism), except I use the word for this game rather than filming which the meaning is typically for.
Myrddin doesn't just blur the line of fiction, he almost feels like Monika at the end of Doki Doki Literature Club, except even more immersive.
Awww, the option buttons are clouds~ So cute!
Actually, I DO need advice for stress. >.< Thanks Myrddin! Lol!
Looking at the 'Hello' and 'Can you see this?' text files...will the player have to mess with the game files? Because that would be so cool!
At least you can draw. Out of the few games that I tried to make, only one of them had hand drawings instead of AI, and I am not proud of it.
Besides, Myrddin is very attractive! Er, I mean handsome. No, I mean drawn very well. (>////<)
As for the UI, I love the cloud designs, I really do. It is so cute!
I really hate to say this, but, I still don't like his new look. It's a shame, because I genuinely love everything else about the game.
I'm going to be honest - my opinion on that likely won't change, and that is truly regretful.
I would guess why he was put inside the cube, but if I'm right, it could be a spoiler, so I'll keep my thoughts to myself this time.
What I will say is, he looks terrified, and I think he's shaking in the picture after easing into the frame.
Okay, I've just about written a full-length novel here, so I'll stop now.
I am really looking forward to playing the demo next moth, and seeing Myrddin again. I know the wait will be worth it.

Testing out the sprite is a good compromise. While I would never be totally comfortable with it, I would still play the game if you finalize it, simply for Myrddin.
Seeing his questions without question marks would be funny, in a good way. What if I said that I hated clouds? Just kidding! *Mentally apologizes to Myrddin.*
Your enthusiasm for the skinship options is making me curious about what you will do with them. I honestly can't wait to see those interactions!
Now I'm excited for the romance route! Myrddin really is a good friend, though. Arrogant, and rude, yet also charming and a great conversation partner.
I'm sure that you could come up with a lot of creative ideas when it comes to fourth wall breaking. Though, I wonder what a yandere/ obsessive Myrddin would be like.
I understand that curiosity. Wanting to see how your character could transform with a certain voice, is normal. My friend Melancholy Marionette has told me that she adds voice acting because it makes the game better. Voice acting or not, I would still play it.
I suppose it wouldn't take as long if there weren't many animations. That was what I was worried about. I guess I should consider myself lucky that this is a game, and not an animated tv series.
Two heads are indeed better than one. And I am more than happy to give ideas and criticism at any time.
January? Yes! That's really soon! I know it's just a demo, but, I'm really excited for it, already.
I know that I keep saying it, but, I genuinely cannot wait to see Myrddin again!
Stay safe and healthy this winter.
Every other opinion on the changes to the game will be positive, so I just want to get the negative opinion out of the way:
The changes to Myrddin's sprite.
I genuinely think that the original sprite was cuter, and I don't think that I can get used to the new one. Making his sprite a full one is a good idea; it is simply that his features are sharper, and he's taller than I imagined him to be.
But, all changes are for you to decide, and I fully accept that.
I like the cube-like environment. Myrddin feels isolated, and a room like that would reflect those feelings.
About his personality, Myrddin already feels like a real person I can get attached to, but having him remember what the player does would make the game even more immersive.
Some chat bots can remember what you say as well, making the conversations feel more real, instead of seeming as if you are talking to a virtual character, or a machine.
An example of a future conversation with Myrddin could be as follows:
"[Player name], do you have a favorite hobby? Something that you enjoy doing more than any other activity?"
You give your answer, and then later on, Myrddin mentions it like this:
[Choice]: 'What do you do when you feel sad?'
If your answer is your favorite hobby, Myrddin's response could be:
Myrddin: "Of course! Because it's your favorite hobby, correct? Obviously it would cheer you up."
I'll try to give you a few options for interactions, but, they might not realistically fit into a horror game. ...Remember, I like Myrddin in a more romantic way.
Options:
Having Myrddin say that he wants to enter the player's world to see them in person.
If possible...er maybe adding skinship. Like patting his head, or clicking on his hand to indicate that you're holding it.
This is admittedly silly, but maybe an option to give him gifts.
Dating sim-like elements like responses that are flirty, or shy, or joking.
...Just to name a few things. Hee-hee~
I will assume that you don't want ideas for the horror part, since you didn't ask, however, please allow me to make a suggestion.
If the player leans more into flirty/romantic options - (assuming there are any added), Myrddin can become obssessed with the player, and attempt to literally "break the fourth wall" by cracking the screen. Or, at least it could look that way, if you draw his sprite bashing the screen with his hand until cracks appear.
I honestly don't mind what audio is used. No offense whatsoever is meant here, but I play the game strictly for Myrddin, so I don't care too much about the audio.
Okay, I may have lied about only one negative opinion. HOWEVER, this isn't a criticism, so much as a warning:
Voice acting is a bad idea to me for two reasons.
The biggest reason is the amount of time it would take, and how that would slow down the progress of the game.
The second reason is simply that I like to imagine what Myrddin sounds like myself, so I wouldn't even have the volume up for voice acting. I have - in my mind - the perfect voice for him. Kind of smooth and soft like butter.
If you think making different outfits for Myrddin would be too much work, then you don't have to do it. Frankly, I like his current outfit, and I feel like it is good enough.
I have similar complaints about animation: It could slow down progress, and sometimes if the artist gets sick, or has to take a break for some reason, the progress of that part of the game has to be stopped temporarily.
Well, those are simply my thoughts and opinions. In the end, whether I love or hate an idea, this game is your project, and every decision is yours to make.
I just hope that I can see Myrddin again, soon...or whenever is it possible to see him. ^-^
I am so happy that you like my writing so much! I honestly just wrote what I felt at that moment, and it all came flowing out. The real credit goes to you, however; without your character, no story would have been created.
I was only inspired to write it because of Myrddin, after all.
That's okay, I love reviews! Especially positive ones. ^-^
I must admit, the thought of a longer, fully fleshed out version of the game, makes my heart pound. I'm actually embarrassed by how excited I became at the very idea of it.
But, that is a good thing, because if a full version of the game does get released, it would make me so happy!
It was no effort at all. If I let my thoughts drift, it is easy to imagine interacting with Myrddin, and how we would engage in conversation.
I must thank you for introducing me to such a wonderful character. For that, I am truly grateful.
I couldn't stop thinking about Myrddin, so I had to release my thoughts, somehow.
I wrote this...drabble? Short story? To let my feelings out, and I'm sending you the link in case you want to check it out.
And, do let me know if there is any issue with using your game to write a story. I did add a disclaimer, however.
This is the link: https://www.quotev.com/story/17203191/Behind-The-Screen/1
My thoughts are under a spoiler tag to be safe.
SPOILER:
I'm kind of sad that Mink wasn't real. I liked his character a lot; I wish that he had been the human instead of Poppy.
End of spoiler. In a nutshell, I wish that Mink had a happy ending, because I really like yanderes, and I love Mink's personality.
I was looking forward to this game, until I found out it was a Unity game. I tried to play it on an emulator, (Winlator) but it crashed at the start. Is there any chance that you could port it to android or even renpy? Renpy games can be played on Joiplay (another emulator), so it could work on mobile.
May I ask what would keep you from continuing the game? I mean, I can wait a year or multiple years if it's a guaranteed certainty that it would be continued.
I must confess that I cannot stop thinking about that ending, and if there is no continuation, I may very well go mad.
Mostly, I just want to see Myrddin again. So sorry if my question is too personal or comes across as rude.
