Well, this just made me want an update even more. I'm not trying to push you to do so, but I love your oc so much, and the cg of him staring at the player makes me sad, because I might never see it in the game. However, I understand not wanting to continue something.

i’m planning to start working on the motel route tomorrow (pray for me), and i’ll be posting mini devlogs every other week w/ my progress !!
I love progress updates! For a bored person with no life, they feed me.
And the fact that you're getting right into working on a new route, makes me happy, but remember to take breaks! Also, drink lots of water in this heat to stay hydrated.
Fun fact: the first thing that I thought when I saw the cg of llya was that his face that close looked really cute with the clarity and definition of his freckles being so clear. I think I might have a problem...HELP! Joking~

A self-insert would be really nice. I'm sure that any player that wants a self-insert character would be willing to play without cgs, or the cgs could only be of Darius. That's better than no self-insert at all, which is the alternative.
Or, what if you gave the player a silhouette instead of a detailed sprite? But, maybe you were already planning to do that, anyway.
Maybe make the vietnamese version first, and then add an english version? That way, at least one version will come out sooner, and not everyone will have to wait longer for an update.
Plus, if someone is impatient for an english translation, they can use a translator. Either way, the game can still come out in both english and vietnamese this way.
Oh, god...why? Stat raising games are my least favorite, because they make the gameplay more difficult, and make the game boring and monotonous. I understand that you want to reduce the amount of reading/writing, but you don't have to. I'm sure that your writing style is fine, and the game would be okay with more words instead of a mini game.
Having said that, at the end of the day, this is your game, and the decision is up to you. That was just my opinion.
I really love your writing! Trick is such an interesting, and complex character, and I am so in love with him. 😍🥰 I love the cg's and his sprite, too. You have such an adorable art style! I also love that the player can choose to stay with him at the end. That choice was so important to me. I also love Spectral Fantasy, and I hope that you make more games in the future!
