Can you use any of these as a background image: https://www.ttursas.com/DDR/Backgrounds ?
Or do these work for Dear Friend / Metamorpheus: https://www.ttursas.com/DDR/Metamorpheus ?
If these work (they work for me) then the issue might be with the website where the images, that you are trying to use, are.

You mean "Dear Friend" or HTTP boxes/balls or backgrounds in-game / in editor levels? For me Flash Players 10 and 11 work, but for some users only Flash Player 10 works. Some older levels in the level database reference images that have already vanished from the Internet. AFAIK there is nothing I can do about it...
I think update v1.3.5 made that possible, and v1.3.6 fixed a bug in it, so relatively recent changes. Please check out the CHANGELOG: ttursas.com/DDR/CHANGELOG.txt
You can also play levels from the level database in the editor (I assume you are just playing the built-in levels) and with those points unlock stuff as well.
Very stange that any of our Flash games would just stop working, haven't heard this happen before. Have you tried a different Flash player? Or move the DD:MIA.swf to another location on your computer (Flash Player stores the settings etc. of a .swf file based on the .swf's location on the computer)?

- Drop Dead: Olympics
- I Want You Dead, Santa
HTML5 would require that I'd learn it and JavaScript and all that's related, so it'd be a big effort and the audience would be limited. Better idea, I think, would be to continue developing that Drop Dead 3D we already have for Android phones, that's using a proper game engine (Unity 3D). Perhaps one day we can publish it for iOS as well...
