omg it's okay, i've definitely had more embarrassing goofs in my website hobby before lol! glad it was an easy fix. thanks so much for the help :)
for reference, here's a screenshot of what my .md file looks like for my test post.
i can create a post, but any tags i add to it won't appear in the tag list, and i can't figure out what i'm doing wrong. this happens on the dev server and the problem carries over to my built site.
