Happy that you liked it! Apologies for the late reply, but don't worry, our team saw your comment much sooner, and it adds to the arsenal if I'll get to try to convince them to work on this together again :))

Reminder for myself to check out your game. Thanks for the comment and I also would be happy to have a finished game, the gamejam was a blast!

Thanks a lot and we're happy that you noticed all the little details the team worked on. We saw this review much earlier but I (the fish-hook programmer) didn't get to reply till now. Nevertheless I can tell you every little thing you pointed out made a smile on our faces (including but not limited to - yes, the hook mechanics were pain but great learning experience happy that you liked them, the Fishmael's designer approves of your comment :D)

You know how it is with perfectionism.. With the unlucky surprises and issues with the engine (godot is amazing, but being an early adopter of v4 had its risks of course) that were discovered in the later stage of putting the stuff together, we weren't successful in having something more tangible. In fact, our scope was cut several times throughout development. And yeah, the run up and present progress make it quite tempting to continue with the project, at least for me (the fish-hook, programmer).

And yeah, thanks a lot for the review, we read it much sooner than we replied. I guess it is the perfectionism that postponed a reply.

Yeah, sorry about that..  This is more of a tech demo than a game, as we didn't manage to fulfill the scope that we set for ourselves, apologies if that wasn't as clear on the site for the game. Nevertheless, thank you very much for checking out the game and for your kind words and feedback!

(also, the massive lag is caused by the physics system of the rope, where it goes spaghetti when forcefully put into a wall,  cumbersome but surely fixable, verlet integration ain't that easy :D)

No worries, no bugs in this way, we just pieced what you see together as a tech demo showcasing one of the tools (hinting the other weapon) and the art/lights/animation. We had more systems done, but there just wasn't enough time to piece them together and make at least a prologue of our original idea. Either way, thank you for checking out the game and we're happy to hear that you liked the little that we managed to do in the assigned time :)

I think it is lovely that it runs on linux in the first place :DD No, but really, we didn't have time to test out platforms other than windows, so it's nice that it runs as intended. (for more info on the room, see the reply to the original comment reply)

Thank you very much for checking out the game! Sadly indeed, the current version is just a tech demo, as our scope turned out too big, so there is just this one room where you can walk and play around with the fishing rod. So even though we have more systems done, there just wasn't enough time for us to integrate it all together, nevertheless, we're happy that you took your time to see some of our hard work put together!
