I don't play a lot of horror games but I really really loved how you made a game where the movement is a bit unique and built a story around it. My cat got very jump-scared, so she would say the game is very scary :D I loved the contrast with the greyscale and the red, it feels very artistic and intense. I would play more of a game like this!
Massively impressed with what you made in 10 days. Super creative and well-made. I spent an embarrassingly long time shooting without getting upgrades because I didn't quite see some of the drops since I made a lot shots from longer range, but once I realized I could dash in and grab them, I started seeing all of the cool upgrades you had made. I really liked that I could apply an upgrade to any weapon or generally, that must have been a pretty cool system you'd built. Congrats on a great game, and what's cool is it does have so much potential to grow!
I collected about 6-8 of each color before I was totally lost in the caves. I refuse to mine the little red ore guys! I may have missed the ending due to being lost for a while, I really tried to find all of the hallways but just lost my sense of direction after a while. Cool idea, let me know if I missed something major and I'll try again!
The art was fantastic. Took me a sec to realize the icon was in the center, but once I saw that it was very very intuitive. Good splash of RNG mixed in to keep it interesting. Super smooth card animations, wouldn't have guessed it was the first card game you've made. Was playing with my partner and she said she wants this game in multiplayer, I think it made a good impression :)
This was fun to play. I was really starting to get a hang of it and earn a reputation, but I think the game got stuck when I shiv'd someone without a guard noticing before yard time was over. I waited until the next yard time technically came around, but it just stayed on this screen (attaching screenshot).
Overall really well made, your artwork was well done and this seems like a very deep and original concept!
This was fun, it felt good to figure out some of the tricks. I will never trust a tree stump again! My only issue was that some of the screen transitions happened fast with an immediate danger right on the other side, so I walked to my death before I realized I had teleported.
Platforming was smooth and fun, made it to the flag and honestly felt like I could have stayed for more levels!
I love the idea you put together here, really unique. I think the movement was a little slide-y (maybe adding a bit stronger deceleration) so small steps would lead to sliding off of the boxes which was frustrating. If you just made it a little easier to control (although maybe you like it this way) then I think you'd have a really solid game even outside of a jam. Well done!
This is pretty tough! I feel like the clues were a bit hard to recognize as to what they were saying. I think I ended up with double digits in murders before I accepted defeat. This is a pretty cool idea though, if I could investigate a little more or be able to see what they said again before moving on the next day, my chances would be a lot better (I have the memory of a garbanzo bean sometimes). Great fit to the theme, nice jam game!
That was great! I did find that if I pressed z in the menu after completing a shift (I did this more than I want to admit just by accident) it would count the day up and replay the last day's shift message.
I was curious where it would all lead and the final level was a fun change from the previous gameplay! I picked the "red" option, no spoilers :)
I couldn't tell if I had reached the end but do think I got through a about 6 levels until I noticed it kept repeating the same one, so I tried using different doors, etc. but got the same result. It took a second to get used to the movement because of the momentum, but it felt pretty good to get through the levels.
