This is such exciting news! I prefer old-school games, so this is my most anticipated release of this year, and in quite some time, for that matter! Knowing that I could be playing it in less than a month makes me feel like I’m back in high school and waiting for FF VII, Tactics, VIII, and IX to come out!

Great work finishing up ahead of time, by the way!

I wholeheartedly agree with what Razuth said: All of us FF fans and gamers in general need to commend you for your work on this game! Using your vacation time so you can reach your goal and grace the rest of us with a great experience says a lot about the kind of person you are! We all appreciate what you’re doing, and we’ll patiently await the gem you’ll surely deliver!

Sounds great! I know it will be worth the wait! And trust me when I say, I’m no stranger to computer issues. I’m an indie author who writes fantasy books for a living - I was inspired by FF I and CV II when I was a kid - and when my laptop crapped out on me last year, I thankfully had everything backed up!

Speaking of stories, I don’t mean to keep pestering you, but a few of the things I truly love about your games are your stories and original characters. I think the casts you’ve created in the Blackmoon Prophecy games are awesome, and I also like how you’ve used sprites from games like Romancing Saga III. They work REALLY well in an old-school FF game, and again, I love the original characters you’ve come up with while also making the world feel like a legit FF with the common reoccurrences they use, such as crystals, summons, chocobos/moogles, et cetera. Again, as a fan of the series and your work, I just want to say you’re doing a great thing for all of us fellow gamers, and I know a lot of the others on here appreciate what you’re doing just as much as I do! THANK YOU!

Awesome! I have to say, 2026 is the year I’ve been waiting for when it comes to gaming! A new Castlevania for the first time in over a decade, a 2D-HD FF game in Resonance, and of course, YOUR game because I love old-school FF! You deserve a pat on the back for all the hard work you do!

Hey, Mith! You and I spoke a few years back, and I just wanted to log on and let you know that all the work you’ve done on this gem has been astounding! I can’t believe how much the game has changed over the years, and everything about it is extraordinary!

Anyway, I wanted to voice my opinion and point out something that I haven’t really noticed anyone else saying: Being an indie author who writes fantasy books for a living - and yes, FF I was the game that inspired me to choose my life’s work back at the age of eight - I think you deserve a TON of praise for the way you’ve written the story that follows the cast of Braver. The way you’ve turned FF XI into a single-player experience for people like me who don’t enjoy MMOs is remarkable, but add in the fact that you’ve made the main cast so darn endearing, well, that’s nothing short of incredible. The way the main four heroes connect and grow as a team makes for some damn fine storytelling, and take it from a guy who weaves fantasy tales for a living when I say that that really means something! I genuinely CARE about these characters. They’re not some bland “create-a-character-so-you-can-explore-the-world” type of cast. No, you’ve whipped up some really awesome characters, while at the same time, using real characters from XI so people like me who enjoy an offline experience can still follow the lore of the original game. Again, pat yourself on the back for what you do, and while I’m in no way famous since I’m only an indie author, if you’d ever like me to put any kind of “shout-outs” or “ads” in the backs of my books to promote your game, just reach out and let me know!

Keep up the great work!

Michael Verley, fantasy author on the Quivering Quill

Hey, UPRC! As a lifelong FF fan, I just wanted to log on and tell you that you’re doing great work! I’ve played a few other fan games that were amazing, and the work you’re doing to remake your first game looks awesome! One thing I’d maybe suggest after trying out your two other Blackmoon Prophecy games: If possible, maybe implement a way for players to change the controls. Personally, I’ve always been a console guy, but to play these great fan games, I undoubtedly have to do so on PC. That being said, I HAVE to use a controller, and I’ve found that the button layout on the Blackmoon Prophecy games - especially the second one - is quite jarring. I could get used to the first game, but the second one was laid out quite weird for someone who’s been playing FF since the first one on NES! Unless I’m missing a way to change the control inputs, I think it would be a great option to add to your newest work! Other than that, everything you do is solid, and keep up the great work!

I want to thank Mithrandir from the bottom of my heart for putting so much time into creating this masterpiece! As a fan of this series since its inception and first arriving in the States back in 1990, I've always been left with a void in the numbering since XI and XIV were strictly MMOs and I've never been an MMO player: I'm sure they're fantastic games, but I'm a single player RPG gamer and I've waited nineteen years to learn about FF XI...and now thanks to Mithrandir, I - like many people before me - am falling in love with the world of Vana'diel! This game is so well done and as you play it, you can only marvel at how long it had to take Mith to put this colossal game together! I appreciate your time in doing this so everyone out there can enjoy a single player FF XI experience...and also for the people like me who have never had the opportunity to play it before! Now I can sit back and learn the lore of this fabulous game for the first time! I'm nearing fifty hours and having an absolute blast! And if you're someone reading this comment who hasn't downloaded the game yet...what are you waiting for?! Start downloading now so you can enjoy this amazing ride!

One word to sum up this game: PERFECTION! Illy, you really did your homework and gave FF I so much back story that it is now necessary for me to always play your game before I play through FF I! I give you all the praise in the world and wanted to leave a review on the RPG Maker website, but they shot my reviews down twice because they stated that I "praised your game too much..." as if such a thing can be possible! Again, thanks for the time you put into making this gem that can only be described as a nostalgic MASTERPIECE!
