Hi everyone! I’ve been developing Tread Bot solo in Godot 3 over the last few years. It’s an authentic NES-style action-platformer embedded in an immersive character-driven story. I’ve finally stepped out of my "development bubble" and released a substantial 3-chapter demo on itch.io. I'm looking for feedback to help move forward.

The Story:
You play as Penny, an AI researcher remote-controlling a combat robot to stop a self-replicating outbreak at the Amanite Applications Lab. I’ve focused on making the story immersive; for example, the respawn mechanic is part of the story and the dialogue system actually reacts to the specific ways your robot is destroyed. Original music also enhances the story.

Technical Constraints (The "NES Soul"):
Engine: Godot 3.
Resolution: 340x240 (Integer-pixel movement).
Input: NES-like controls (external controller or keyboard)
Palette: Strict NES color limitations with custom shader-based palette swapping.
Audio: 100% original soundtrack and SFX composed in FamiTracker.

What’s in the Demo?
Chapter 1 & 2: Intro, core mechanics, and beginning story arc.
Chapter 3 (Factory Infested): Introduces the Saw-Blade upgrade and two high-intensity bosses (one shown in the GIF above).

I Need Your Feedback!
Since I’ve been working on this in a vacuum, I’m specifically looking for "fresh eyes" on the following:

Is the story clear and engaging?
Are the platformer mechanics satisfying?
Is the difficulty curve balanced?
Are there bugs I may have missed?

Story/Dialogue: What did you like? What was confusing or felt like inappropriate pacing?
One Change: If you could suggest one change what would it be?
