Kinda sad to hear this game got shelved, though while I wish I could say otherwise, I can actually see why this game was, and why it wasn't quite as accepted as some other ones. Don't take that to say this isn't fun, or that the animations are bad. Just some..... specific gripes.

Good: Very good sprites, unique ideas behind concepts that aren't all too unique themselves, and effort put into them enough that while you can tell their analogues (Goblins are imps, slimes are pinkies, hefers are hoof demon bois) they still each have an individual feel and are 100% in the theme. Very campy, lots of silly sex related things that kinda go over the top in a way that stays silly without entirely sacrificing difficulty for it, you can very easily go down on the regular difficulty if you don't give the enemies the mechanical respect they deserve. Weapons are unique aswell, though really could use a descriptor for each. Blunderbus is your average shotgun, crossbow ironically shoots what seems to be explosives, which is very helpful early, and assault rifle replacer bounces off walls, which is both very interesting to play with and around. Most scenes, while short, don't clip, and are well drawn, and most actually address the specific monster girl in question quite well, and are in line with expectations. When enemies are ready for private time, indicator is very obvious and doesn't seem to expire, very nice touch.

Bad: Very low enemy variance combined with very high density on higher difficulties, I get that alotta doom's ramping up was done not through stats but through just more demon, but DAMN does it feel like some area's are just OOZING enemies. And sometimes that's not even hard, it's just hectic. Theme is nice, but these are supposed to be marauding monster girls. Why are all the powerups sex toys, but then NO monstergirl is even TRYING to seduce you. Goblins punch, slimes..... slime, bee's shoot fireballs, hefers do shoot milk, but catgirls shoot friggin RAILGUNS at you, and ghosts slash. Not only that, but supposedly the Jotun is spoken of in only hushed whispers..... so why does no enemy whatsoever even seem slightly concerned? Oddly enough, this feels like hdoom in a way that's entirely backwards. This feels like a pervert snuck onto a doom map and decided to flood the floor with sex toys and then fuck whomever agrees..... the 30% of the time they do. If that. There's no rhyme or reason as to when or where an enemy will decide they wanna have fun, and no way to change the setting just in case you don't want to down 25 goblins to have one ready to have a go. Speaking of, for the rate being so low..... every enemy has a single scene. That's not necessarily bad in some cases, like with the bee, or with the slime. They're simple and easy for a reason. But the goblin is actively shown at the end of the first level being banged by the Jotun, so why is that scene just a picture and was never a scene with the actual enemy? Not only that, but why does the goblin's scene break scaling? Every other enemy scales properly in their scenes, but in the goblins the Jotun is just.... short? Scenes are also just fucking, or cumming. If it's just gonna be two per, why not more unit variance? Why not multiple scenes if each scene is only going to be two parts? Moving on to the difficulty..... sometimes it just..... well it's just cheap. Not hard. Cheap. OG doom did have SOME rooms where you'd enter and get sucker punched or shot from a teeny tiny alcove, but this game LIVES on that. Tons of places have alcoves, or flying enemies, or people LITERALLY hiding around corners. Each one in itself isn't a game ender, but good lord is it tedious going from place to place and getting a random fireball from a bee on the ceiling, or slapped by a ghost just sitting in a premade alcove, or getting a goblin punch from a tiny corner. I understand at this age of doom's mapmaking that this is just the accepted way to enhance it, but then you add low % sex scenes and now you've turned sex into a scavenger hunt.

The ugly: Invariably some games are gonna have some things that just make it obvious they needed more time in the oven. Stat wise, the flaming railgun cats are COOL as HELL. Why do they have half the hitpoints of a slime? And why are they so slow? Why are slimes so oddly fast? Why are goblin girl's attacks so slow, but them faster? Why does the hefer wait AGES to fire anything at you while just walking towards you slowly until they're at 10% health most of the time? Why do the black cats revive people but just NOT MOVE? So many things in this feel like they needed community feedback and more time in the oven, and if ANY of this was in the demo, I would chock it up to the unfortunate death of yet another interesting game that coulda been peak. But for ALL the 4 stages, 6 enemies, and 6 scenes with 2 parts, you have to pay 10$. Now, 10$ while it's BEING DEVELOPED is perfectly fine. Goes into development, helps the artist continue work, hire others, yada yada. This game is officially kaput. Put down and development ended. 10$ is kinda a hefty cost for...... 25 minutes of gameplay, with exceedingly low NSFW chances, for a campy game thats oddly hard as hell at some points and then just complete stomps at other. And I have to come back to the goblin once again. You had a *fantastic* poster character to make a coupla scenes on or more stuff, and then relegated her to the ONLY lesbian scene possible..... while the only are of her in the game is her getting railed by the Jotun.

In essence: This game is definitely worth paying for. NOT 10$, but it is worth maybe like 6-7$. Maybe if you came back, added a scene or two, added more maps, iunno, still developing the game would justify that price tag heartily. But at this point this isn't even more than what most people would consider a demo, and you're charging more than some FULL games come out for here. I respect that these sprites have AND look like they have your blood, sweat and tears in them. And that's worth making money off of. But there does come a time when you have to admit, this just isn't enough for the price you want, and you have no intention of coming back to it to rectify that. Which is a shame, because in all honesty? Out of everything out there, this is the only real thing I've seen that I feel could give HDOOM a contender, but as it is now, it instead turns HDOOM into the benchmark that other things measure up against.
