probably bugs, art (like week 6 pixel art and week 5/7 bg art), charting, and other things probably to do with the games engine and dev tools if i had to guess. Games are complicated shit! it doesn't surprise me some newground idiots are taking their sweet ass time, and at the same time, being really bad at giving release dates.

the game isn't complete, and I think the devs talked about adding cutscenes or dialogue or smth in the future. But like, if your genuinely curious on the story, tldr of it is boyfriend wants hot babe but her parents fucking hate him and then pico newgrounds gets hired to fucking killed him but pico's school love conquers all is canon and their ex's, did i mention theres darnell and nene and tankman? well pricko newgrounds kills tankdude darnell and nene all like "wtf" and cue weekend 1 i swear im not hyperfixated gang
nevermind, it was VERY FUCKING RANDOMLY MOVED TO THE RANDOM SECTION?? WHAT??
This is WORSE!! Objectively!! I didn't even figure this out until I found a comment explaining how to find it (press left/right on the random opiton in freeplay)
The fact this is never explained, partly thanks to the changelog not being updated, makes it really stupid.
This update, actually kind of fucking sucks. I'm talking about 0.5.1, which removed almost EVERYTHING IMPORTANT about 0.5.0, like the pico mixes, either the game suddenly and for no good reason performs like ass or the songs are just bugging like hell, and the code is still unoptimized.
I get this was made for a one-week little challenge, but you gotta take TIME to fix your game, and ideally without removing most of your previous major update and making your game perform considerably worse. I really like FNF, and I really hope it has a great future, but PLEASE work on the technical side before making any more updates. Take another year to rework the engine if you have to. I dont care, I'd rather wait then have us a yandere dev situation where the game is built on a horrible foundation and is not optimized.
Porting to other systems is not easy. A programmar has to test a lot, and this update isn't even a stable one. It's performance is kinda janky and it has the most bugs I've seen in one of FNF's major updates. And you expect them to functionally port it to Linux? A system the devs don't even use? You have to be patient, and you have to understand stuff like this is never as easy as it seems.
