I’ll look into this.

There is no longer a dedicated Discord server.

I’m not sure what you mean by mode?

Actually this is reportedly still an issue.

It has been fixed, but it cannot be reflected on existing saves. Will only work for new players/new saves.

Sorry, can’t do anything there. Windows 7 or later is required.

Known issue. It is some kind of plug-in related issue that has not been figured out yet. What is even stranger is that it never occurred to me or my testers before release. It’s been really frustrating for me trying to figure this one out.

This should have been fixed last week, have you updated at all?

Not by design, it simply cannot be done natively in RPG Maker, and would probably require a plugin that I’m unaware of.

I’ll take a look when I have time. Must’ve happened with the latest update somehow.

Good catch!

Zero plans to ever do so, I’m done with fan games now. Centuria (on my Itch profile) is my next project.

Good catch!

Very good catch! I’ll make sure that they’re available in the chocobo forest.

This evens out after the first few hours. An update this weekend will be increasing experience gains over the first few hours.

Good catch!

Apparently this does the trick: https://github.com/m5kro/RPG-Maker-MacOS-Launcher

Indeed fixed, and regarding the dragon? That is a nod/reference to the area in Final Fantasy IX where you could fight dragons extremely early after leaving Lindblum on disc 1 if you found your way to the cliff above Gizamaluke’s Grotto.

Oof, good to know! I’m doing a bug fix update tonight, so I’ll incorporate that into the update.

Thanks for the comment!

  1. This unequipping issue has been reported by a few people on my Discord server. I haven’t had time to check to see what causes it, and I’m not sure (as of yet) why it may even be happening.

  2. Good catch, thanks for pointing this out!

  3. This is just how RPG Maker works, unfortunately. A plugin was required to be able to allow advanced targeting in battles, and as far as I know, it’s not possible in menus.

  4. Ami’s Cheer ability restores MP over time to the party. If you’re unfamiliar with what some command abilities are, the book at your field camp actually explains them all to you. There is also a known targeting bug that, once in a blue moon, will cause any party-wide heal to affect the enemy instead. Not sure why it happens, but thankfully it is rare.

  5. F4 should toggle fullscreen on/off. F5 restarts the game, F6 takes a screenshot. If it’s not working for you, perhaps you have a keyboard with a Function key that needs to be pressed with the F key?

Should be fixed in the 1.01 download. Not sure how it was happening because their starting shields had been set to “none”. In 1.01, they should have bucklers.

You shouldn’t be able to go through Gozmodan’s Grotto that early, so I’ll have to check that out.

I wouldn’t know, I’m not familiar with those things at all. I’ve seen someone on my Discord server mention that they were using JoiPlay, so it should be fine.

F4 will go in and out of fullscreen!

Really? It’s just Mode 7. I will be having a secondary download that strips the game down of plugins that have graphical enhancements like that and will remove Mode 7, lighting effects, and drop shadows on the font. That version might be for you then.

I’ll make sure that I can deliver them, haha. Won’t be for a few months yet, I’ve had endless system problems for the last two months that have really setme back. This sucker IS coming this year though, hopefully August or early September at this point.

Should be a default feature in this one, I think! You’ll just have to press F1, and I think there’s a way to map your gamepad controls there.

Not for a few more months due to hardware issues.

I wasn’t happy with a lot of elements in the original game, and as I set about trying to make it more cohesive and just better overall, it led to changes in the story that just wouldn’t work with the original. When I realized this, I just decided to lean into further changes to make the remake interesting for returning players.

No, I’m pretty much done with it. There’s no source code to release, as it was made in RPG Maker MV. You could easily poke around the game by opening it in that!

The plot of the remake diverges in several ways that contradicts events in the original two games.

Thanks for the kind words! Hopefully you enjoy the remake just as much (if not more) than the original!

There are no plans to do a remake of the second game due to how the plot of the remake diverges from the original. The remake is its own separate story that will I consider the “canon” timeline going forward.

I don’t really have any plans to do anything else Blackmoon Prophecy related after this is finished. I’m brainstorming my next game (not a fan game), but will be taking a break for a little bit from game dev after this is finished.

As for a release date, June is still possible, but it’ll be tight. Recently had a month long slump where I didn’t get much work done on the game. Late June or early July is what I’m currently expecting.

Don’t worry about crediting individual graphics. Just a general shout-out is more than fine, especially since the game was released 15 years ago.

I’m not sure I understand, what sprites are you asking to credit someone for? Jasmine’s sprite is by Squaresoft themselves, and Oalston’s sprite is just a recolour. Only one you mentioned that is mine is Siegfried’s.

Good catch! I probably wrote that one when I was running on no sleep or something.

Nothing before the final release. My testers and I are plugging away at playing through the game and testing everything. There are only a few main dungeons and some optional content left to finish.

Most likely June!
