Just found out it was cancelled.
A pity, but I am glad you actually wanted to do the replacement project.
Overambition and burnout are the real boss fights in game development.
I've been told in the past that saying you're a perfectionist is the most damning statement at a job interview in creative fields.
I believe the structure of CoM, which didn't lend itself to casual exploration and fostered an atmosphere of some urgency, was unconducive to a healthy development, as every new content would have required to add something "meaningful", some progress, something that drives forward the story, and in any project that one really cares for, that has to be perfect, and never is; So the only way to add anything inevitably includes disappointment.
If you still like the world you've created (it was beautiful), you could come back in a few years and do an unrelated short story in it. Best of luck to your future projects.
