I'd appreciate a look, traffic has all but stopped lol. I'll take a look at your game too!
Thanks for playing my game! Also yeah I did try loading in my shaders onto a dummy object in the beginning, but I didnt find out till later that loading scenes apparently resets the cache essentially. I wanted to try and load the shaders during the loading screen right after the cutscene, but didnt have time to do it before bug fix deadline. Thanks again! I appreciate you
I dont even know what to say, that was genuinely amazing. I felt my own heart seize a bit, those scenes of self inflicted doubt and anxiety hit a bit too far home. I usually dont spend much more time than it takes to win or get a feel for the game, but this one had me locked in until the end with a sigh of relief as it ended. Like others have said, the connection to the theme was loose but the game carries itself through that.
https://itch.io/jam/theveryseriousjuniperdevgamejam/rate/4692625 - I hope you enjoy it even a little :) Im just grateful anyone plays it at all. Im gonna be playing yours and rating regardless ^^
I was immersed, emotionally invested, and devastated to tragically fall in the heat of battle. My archnemesis...Honse with strong bone. It is peak. I will say it was an awkward moment when the name thing came up I typed in "Honse" intentionally and didnt know what to do until I finally erased and tried to write in a random name and realized what was happening lmfao. 10/10 would simulate prideful descent again
thank you so much!! I can't tell you how much I appreciate your play by play. Yes that is a SpongeBob reference haha.
I've gotten some feedback about the difficulty and if I had a chance, I would make the beginning level empty of enemies and probably put a fly there to help introduce the player to the mechanic early, rather than throw it at them in a tense situation.
Again, I really appreciate you! Thank you for playing my game <3
P.s: I will be playing your game as well once I am free today
I appreciate the review! Once you mentioned it I realized I really shouldve just removed those two enemies and let the player explore their controls and the physics. I wont do it now because I dont want to add or remove content after the submission unless its bug related, but something I'll keep in mind for the future. Thanks for playing my game <3
Nice short little game, Ill admit it took me a second to realize I could use the arrow keys to move. Maybe a little tutorial or description somewhere for the controls would be nice. Other than that, I enjoyed the puzzle game part of it! Lots of potential for some cool puzzles. Great job for your first game my dude
There was a bit of lag when colliding sometimes, but otherwise I enjoyed it. It could probably use some feedback for the player for when they successfully parry (I know theres a sound) or when you win a trade. Was a bit confused on that part. I really enjoyed it overall though, nice concept I could roll with. This Froggert and this is my favorite game in the citadel.
this is also my first game jam (and first real game). Been learning and practicing all the different fields needed to make a game for a few months now. This week was exhausting but I told myself I would make a submission no matter how bad it was. Im satisfied with what I came up with and my friends enjoyed it, which is all I can ask for. The feeling after finally submitting and completing was something else. My game is the only one on my profile so check it out if you like, but no need to do so. Just wanted to share because I felt the same way as you did.
