While playing this game, there were things I liked and disliked. Overall it wasn't a hard game but it is quite time consuming if you don't know what you are looking for.  My first attempt at the game I got the fourth person correct at random and didn't know why until I followed him for the reasoning.

The pros i saw:

  • Textures are simple, so it's easy to tell what gets stolen. Easy to identify object or items that are key to the heist like alarm buttons, paintings, electrical box, etc...
  • The level design makes it so that only a small portion of the map can be seen which warrants moving the character to different positions if you want to watch over certain areas.
  • The game isn't hard once you know what needs to be done or looked out for.
  • The room directly adjacent to the entrance where one of the characters is hidden in is way too easy to find if anything (can't really call it a flaw though as it could be missed)
  • Character doesn't feel too fast, however being said, the character does feel slightly too slow (maybe a 5-10% increase might feel slightly better)
  • The distinctions between the characters are easy to tell apart from one another
  • The game idea itself is a very interesting one
  • Names are hilarious

All that being said, here's the issues I found or could be improved upon:

  • No option to change mouse sensitivity or volume (holy shit the game is loud)
  • No instructions (they don't have to be complex or give away what to look out for, however just simple instructions could go a long way on decreasing the play time)
  • UI was slow at times (mainly when I was accusing people at light speed)
  • When I found out the identity of all four robbers, it didn't happen in the same accusation period (I knew 3 prior to finding the 4th but found the 4th by accusing 4 new people who were acting sus). This lead me to a win even though I didn't know who the the 4th robber was
  • When I exited the level and started it up again, everything freezes until game is paused and resumed
  • On some of the accusations, other people would be added out of nowhere (for example/ when I accused Paige Turner, Helen Hywater got added to my accusation list)
  • Quite a few clipping incidences, able to walk through cupboards in kitchen, all the statues can be clipped through, wall corners can be looked through normally while flat walls can be looked through when angling the camera slightly.
  • At the exit in the room directly left from the entrance, you can walk the one of the gaps in the door and walk out of the map (you can go out  as far as to leave the rendering distance from the level)
  • Always started the round looking in at the inside of my own head (looking up)
  • Animations for character are non existent (honestly don't need the characters body at this point, he's already a ghost)
  • Characters could sometimes not reset in their original position leaving characters is different positions and the script doesn't move them (eg/ miss button presser spawned in front of the button and never left)
  • Sometimes characters would mistime their events severely (the robber who turns off the lights was something like 20-30 seconds late)
  • I ended a round with the lights off and when I returned for the next round the lights were off until the lights were to be turned back on in the second round

That is it for the issues, however another thing I don't want to lump in with the issues was the CPU usage. CPU usage was consistently between 33-50%, don't know if this was due to the hot day and my computer running hot but was still apparent.
