This is such an awesome take on Snake! Just one little added feature completely changes the game and the consequences of player actions. Brilliant design decision to have your previous body become your new boundaries, it creates such an interesting balance of risk and reward since your tail creates all sorts of unpredictable shapes as you go after fruit. I wish the indicator for when an ouroboros is possible was a little more visually prominent, but given the time constraint of the jam this is fantastic.

This is something that took me a lot of getting used to as well... I've gotten the hang of it now but I still sometimes find myself feeling not entirely in control, though maybe that's part of the fun.

Maybe you could allow the player to point Cereal directly with the arrows/joystick, but still clamp his rotation speed to its current value? That way it's more intuitive to understand how he'll rotate in response to input, but he still needs some time to fully rotate to that direction, and the player still has to think a few steps ahead. Just an idea! I could see that still taking a bit of the challenge out of it too. :)

I just remembered I made a mistake when writing down my previous experience: this is actually my fourth game jam, but only my second time submitting a completed game for a jam.

That was a really clever puzzler! Great music, and also love the character's dance when they finish a level :D

witty intro writing and super fun art! got a well-balanced gameplay loop too, and figuring out how to combine each color is a fun challenge. can't rate officially cuz i didn't submit a game but i'd give it a solid 4 out of 5! :D

Thank you! I know I'll get good use out of it in the future. Like, I finally figured out what the delta variable in tick loops does! That's absolutely gonna come in handy :)
