Still getting the black screen, but on a whim I decided to try alt+enter. And wouldn't you know it, it worked. I'm now guessing that it was actually a resolution issue this whole time. I do use a rather small monitor.

After getting past oversensitive antivirus issues, and letting it run anyway through windows defender, it just stays at a blank black screen, completely unresponsive. I've tried both the .exe and .zip download versions, and they both just lead to the game never running. I've tried redoing the whole thing form the top with all antivirus completely disabled and the game still just is a black screen, even with running as administrator.
