Been playing the new update for a while - I think the balancing is done quite well now. Great work - I love "One-weapon" mods like this, alongside Combined Arms and Space Hunter.

Only thing that could use some work (That I can currently think of) is the fullscreen HUD. Not only is it rather sparse, but it appears off-center if your HUD settings aren't set exactly. (This issue is particularly bad on 16:10 resolutions like the 1280x800 Steam Deck screen)

Just a question - is the player meant to spawn with Slug Shot by default? Since there are Slugshot pickups in the world but Spawn with Slugshot is ON by default in the options, at least it was when I first played this mod. Just curious as to whether that was intentional or not.

OH MY GOD. Yeah, okay. That's borderline cursed. I see why he tilts the pistol.

As for Gearbox, I checked it with all four weapons, turns out that it MOSTLY works:

Honestly, this one's actually playable. However... Here's GMOTA as the Doomslayer.

...Yeah. See the issue? Also in GMOTA, the Blazter's icon is a sprite of a dead Doomguy marine, as does the Vulture SMG in Combined Arms. Speaking of that mod, all the Crate Weapons render fine, but Tech-Monk's equipment appears like the Deriver's pistol up there, and as for Blastmaster...

...Yeah. Sorry if this is a bit overwhelming -I do genuinely like the ideas you come up with. It's just really annoying how it doesn't quite work with Gearbox, since I use it with basically everything. I just prefer it to the mouse wheel...

If it was my decision, I'd suggest the slugshot take longer between shots. Like, maybe the pump takes longer, or it has a cooldown or something? That would make the slugshot much worse if an enemy is up close, but it would still work against distant enemies, especially if you can quickly get behind cover while it recharges.

(Also I like how it one-shots every hitscanner, so I wouldn't change that)

Still, it's up to you. I'm not the one programming this.

EDIT: OH WAIT YOU UPDATED IT AND I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE.

I've always liked the idea of condensed loadouts, so I'm liking this. However...

Could you make this, and all the other mods (besides Space Hunter which is fine as-is) compatible with the Gearbox addon? I don't know why, but the weapon icons don't display in the wheel properly... It would work wonders for playing this mod on platforms like the Steam Deck.

(Oh yeah, and did you really need to make the Deriver hold that pistol in such an obnoxious way...?)

You know, I've used the Slug altfire so much I was wondering if it needed to be nerfed. I've even found myself using it point blank, since it's so much more reliable than the primary fire...

Nice update, I like the addition of a pistol start script.

In regards to the previous comment I made, you often had to two-shot imps to kill them, as opposed to the one-shot of vanilla Doom.

I should probably mention though: It takes three regular shots to kill a Pinky Demon, even at close range. Slugshots however, you only need two, regardless of range.

I get you can just melee them now (since melee seems to be buffed?) but still, is this intentional? Maybe slugs need a slight nerf, like maybe they do more damage to further away targets? Or should the primary fire be two-shotting the Pink-Demons like in vanilla? I don't know...

(NOTE: I was just playing and I hit a Pinky with two nearly point-blank shotgun shots, but it only died when an Imp fireball struck it in the back immediately afterwards. Seems like it only leaves them with one hit point or something.)

This is a pretty cool mod - but is it just me, or is the primary fire rather underpowered? The damage doesn't feel consistent enough - sometimes it one-shots Imps and three-shots a Revenant from medium range, other times it doesn't manage that point blank...

Still, love the idea behind the mod though.

EDIT: Could also use a dedicated Pistol Start option, UZDoom's doesn't quite work properly with this mod

Sorry to be a bother, but could you update this to assign each weapon a proper icon or distinct appearance in the Alternate HUD?

I know the Alternate HUD doesn't work with Combined Arms, GMOTA, and such, but it would make the mods work so much better with the Gearbox mini-mod. (I use this to make GZDoom much more playable on Steam Deck)

Are you sure you didn't accidentally overdo the movement speed? It just feels way, WAY faster than it should; it just feels like a glitch or something.(I'm playing No Rest For The Living and HOLY HELL it feels like you move real fast...
