The art and general design is great! It's such a simple idea, but it's really effective for a jam this size. You can tell alot of time went into polishing the smaller details.

If only we had the time for branching dialogue! An original plan was for the dialogue booths to be hidden - so finding every one of them would lead to a "good ending"...but this is a 3 day jam! Not super doable haha. Thank you for your compliments!!

This is an insanely impressive game for a school capstone project! Well done all who worked on it!

Hi,

Just bumping this thread as we are now looking for potentially adding 1 artist to the team, who would primarily do texture & material work with finished models. If you are good at character modelling, that is a bonus as well!

Reach out to me at my discord posted above if you're interested!

Hi Shadow, are you still looking for a team? My team is looking for 1 more programmer to lighten the load (I'm the only other one).

You can checkout my post here regarding the game we are making. https://itch.io/jam/road-trip-game-jam/topic/4488100/programmer-with-game-idea-l...

If you're interested, add me on discord @treerover

Talk to you soon!

Hi Shadow, we are going to be moving forward with UE5 as our sound designer would like to focus on practicing audio in ue, but if you would like to join us in UE you're more than welcome! You can send me a message on discord if you'd like to give it a try. @treerover

Hi! I made a post for recruiting here, https://itch.io/jam/road-trip-game-jam/topic/4488100/programmer-with-game-idea-l... if you want to take a look. We are currently looking for a 3d artist. I'm aiming for a medium sized team for a fairly large game (narrative focussed) in UE5. If you want to talk further, you can add me on discord @treerover
Our game will have graphic akin to Firewatch, so I think you'd be a great fit!
Thanks!

Sweet! Sent a request on discord.

Hi all!
My name is Tree! I have experience working in small to large teams in multiple jams and team settings in college. I plan on being the main gameplay programmer / game designer for the game. I also have a large amount of experience designing documentation for games & keeping things organized and in scope.
Here is my portfolio! https://treerover.github.io/index.html (some games on my itch profile as well)

Organization: Trello & docs
Version Control: Github
Engine: UE5

WE ARE NOW LOOKING FOR 1 TEXTURE/MATERIAL ARTIST

Here's a pitch for a game I plan on designing around:  Think Mouthwashing vibes, with Firewatch visuals, but on a roadtrip!

"You and three other passengers wake up in a vintage 70s camper van, speeding down an endless, otherworldly highway under a twilight sky. None of you remembers getting on the van, yet you all feel an inexplicable connection to the road ahead—and to each other. A mysterious cassette player in the dashboard holds the key to unraveling your shared past, but every tape you play reshapes the highway and reveals fragments of forgotten memories. The road trip becomes a journey of self-discovery, collective storytelling, and survival as the highway begins to distort, introducing eldritch anomalies, cryptic road signs, and strange hitchhikers. Who are you, and why are you on this journey?"

Style: Stylized low-poly with neon-lit visuals
