Is there someone who would be kind enough to leave a like on this Devlog?

it's been some time but I hope things have continued to work out in your favor. I haven't done many jams since that I have finished, Snowmania was my genuine first and I am glad that I have this to look back on and appreciate everyone's involvement. Thank you Shalin Philip.

Taking a moment to look back from a couple of years ago to now. Thank you for sharing your feedback and interest. I am still making tiny steps of progress and part of it comes from the generosity found here. I have learned since then that I have the idea in my head, and certain things I have subconsciously picked up on by playing a lot of games, and making a game, I see the code so I know what it does. A recent feedback I got for a newer project was to assume that I will get someone every blue moon who has never played a game before so I need to slow down and really take my time displaying good information. Thank you Cboom from then and now again.

Just wanted to let you know that I am on the furthest back burner possible but I am making progress. I often check here as the years have gone by and appreciate the kind words you shared every time. I have been wanting to come back to Snowmania but I have honestly learned so much since I began, it feels like every 2-3 months I am getting better at state handling, nesting the right conditional statements, I have started a few more projects since then but I have not given up by any means. I cannot wait to make an improvement down the road. Thank you Teamaich.

Thinking about being able to display and locally save a list of retired or defeated heroes instead of just the previous, and doesn't save any progress.

thinking about adding a town area, player can interact with objects and buildings Adventure Quest style.

I made a devlog covering a recent change but also wanted to put a comment here. I just reworked all the hero images in the game.

Just now looking into source material because I want to get a better understanding of the concepts behind game development. I look forward to reading into this.

updating buttons to look more visually appealing and indicative of being able to click and change options.

100 rounds

was a bit of a challenge, had a few close calls, would like to know how many rounds other people get.

reuploaded to fix bug where player data was reset before being displayed in the game over and game retired states.

completed 1 upload since this initial posting, game should be stable.

reuploaded

FOUND BUG PLAYER STATS DOES NOT RESET ON PLAY THROUGHS.

Taking break tonight. No updates.

Discovered 2nd bug.

Player  value, enemies_slain does not reset on new game. Will Patch.

Might change menu state "start" button to "New Game".

FIRST BUG DISCOVERED!

-combat loop with mana slime, stops dealing physical damage to player if player_base_mana >=0. Infinite rounds. Will patch.

v5 snapshot "Breaking UI"

Might make overall window bigger and have player image and enemy images more properly placed. Spread the ui out a bit.

Might add a few ingame achievements seen in highscores screen.

1st achievement is survive 100 rounds or something similar.

New best run 156 rounds. Level 12. Enemies slain 53.

Looking to update game over state graphics and ui placement.

will look into displaying player magic power text in character, game, and other states.

Will display player gold.

Add new background

One more enemy

then sounds.

Best run yet

Level: 9

Rounds survived: 89

Enemies slain: 29

I feel like it is moderately balanced for the time being.

Video coming soon

three version in, three enemies, three spells, three backgrounds. can we get three new players to try it out and see how it goes? :)

thinking about adding "defeated by" :enemy (enemy_name) in the player game_over stats or something like that.
