The position looping wasn’t really my first idea for the main mechanic for the game, (That being the clock) but when I came up with it I thought it’d be a really cool way to bend the rules of how shooters usually go so I’m glad you appreciated it!

The desert theming was mostly random but now that I thought about it some more ig you could say the hourglass sand could be a good explanation? Idrk. As for the enemy design, I sorta just went with whatever I felt like, since these are entities from other dimensions so it didn’t really make sense for them to have bases, but they were heavily inspired by a roblox game called GRACE, and have a hint of mandela in there as well ;) . Can’t tell you much about the -1 cycles thing tho XD
