This is so quirky and cute! I absolutely adore the art style - all of the characters are super unique and interesting. It was a very simple game, but there were enough mechanics that it didn't get too repetitive. I only wish you would've moved faster while crouching - man were those sneaking parts intense! But in all seriousness, great work, the sound design bumps this up as well for me!

Wow that looks stunning! Heading over to play it right away! https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-15/rate/4312001

https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-15/rate/4312001 I'd love to hear some constructive criticism on this one! I'm very eager to see what I can improve on for my next game jam!

I think of innovation like how ChickenHouseStudio said. It's about how unique the ideas and game mechanics are. A platformer might not be super innovative - there's lots of platformers out there - but a platformer where you play as the walls and ground guiding a little dude through your level is something completely else!

This is a great puzzler! It's a simple concept, but it leaves plenty of room for making complex levels and I love that! I think adding some short tutorial to explain it rather than putting instructions on the itch page would make it perfect. Otherwise I thought the game was very polished and the SFX and music worked great!

This is super cute! I love how you start in a level select screen and can choose to do a tutorial - great for people who just want to jump in like me! I also really like how the level select had that alternate movement area, it helps introduce the player to a mechanic before they start, which is a really clever way to teach the player without directly telling them. The artwork was adorable! I love the pixelated style, and the music was super soothing and enjoyable. I do think it could've used a little more sfx - for example a jumping sound or some warp noise when you switch over to the alternate movement. Otherwise great job!

I'm a sucker for alternate reality style games and the idea that you put on some strange new tech and see a creepy dude in a strange room is so appealing. It fits the strange places theme super well. I was a bit surprised when it ended, I'm not entirely sure what you want us players to do - is this a puzzle game or more of "sit back and enjoy this strange experience" type of game. Otherwise I liked it! and the audio and music were fantastic as well.

Woah! That ending was not expected! Loved the visuals and the UI was laid out very well on a space exploration style game. I do think the text at the bottom was a bit much - the whole game kind of felt like a tutorial. I think you probably could've put some text at the top saying "Current Mission: Find the red planet" and have the player kind of figure it out rather than follow an arrow. I also think the refueling stations were a bit tough to find. Something more obvious and large might've been nice. I do like the flavor text that accompanied each planet though - that was a nice addition!

So funky! The music is great and I love the addition of a music volume slider - really makes the game feel like a finished product. The level design was great too and I like how it was easy to read and understand what you should do. Great job!

This is so cute and fun! I love the comedy in the dialogue between mama and baby bird and the idea of being a bird walking around a grocery store is so silly and lovable. I think it was really great how you designed the movement mechanics - it really felt like how a bird would walk around. The SFX in everything from the footsteps to the bird talking was so lovable and charming. My only suggestion would be to make the store part of the game longer. The text is adorable, but went on a bit long sometimes. I like the idea of making it a bit of a maze - but man it would've been cool if there were giant people walking around or something to help make the place feel more lively. Otherwise this is fantastic!

This is so freaky and I'm absolutely here for it. The eerie music and sound effects do so much for it, and even though everything looks hastily drawn and not quite right - it adds to the environment so well that I wouldn't have had it any other way. The test is so eery and I couldn't help but to be intrigued at the mystery of everything. Nothing made sense - which is beautifully on theme for this jam. I only wish it would've been longer!

This is very well executed! Puzzle games are hard to make and I thought yours did it very well. The puzzles didn't feel too challenging (except maybe that key one, struggled with that!) and the way you laid out every level made it very clear for the player what they are supposed to do - which I like! It feels like a tutorial without a blob of text. I did notice one issue - it looks like you only grab the mouse after some movement input, and this resets after interacting with something. For example if I click E on an item, then when I go back I can move my mouse off screen. Otherwise it was great! The environment secretly changing behind you is a nice, subtle touch as well.

This is sick! The driving mechanic was really fun to play with and I couldn't help rockin out to the music! I really like you didn't take any fall damage, so you're fully encouraged to drive around like a maniac and full send off cliffs. The environment was very well done too. It's a simple layout, but the aesthetics and particles in the air helped it feels like you were on a space mission. The SFX of the rover driving was great as well. I did have some difficulties with the camera. At some points it moved really slow, some points it moved really fast, and at one point it seemed as though the controls became inverted? Taking photos became a little frustrating because of this. Otherwise great!

Thank you! Some of the other comments seem to say the same thing about player feel. I’ll be sure to focus on that for the next project :)

Thank you! Yeah I noticed the UI seemed to shrink after I exported it to itch.io. It’s the first game i’ve ever uploaded here so admittedly I didn’t really know how to fix it haha. I like your suggestion for adding the number of papers scored! I wanted to do that as well but ran out of time… Thanks for playing!

Thank you! In hindsight I do think a sound effect when you click a work would have added a lot - sounds aren’t my strong suit so I’ll have to work on improving that!

Thank you! I definitely wanted to dive into the concept of kids essays cause they just have the wildest thoughts sometimes. I appreciate your feedback!

Thank you!

Not bad! I love the character you play as and the concept of switching between realities to solve a platformer is a very unique and fun idea! There are a few small things you could have done to polish it up more - I think a jumping animation would have done a lot for your character, and I noticed that the camera rotation seemed to be clamped arbitrarily? Otherwise it was super fun and I think you did an overall great job!

This is sick! I can't believe you don't have more attention on it. The visuals were super trippy and you hit that liminal spaces surreal aspect so well! The blurriness did hurt my eyes a bit - which is funny since that's exactly what the dude said, so I can give it a pass. Very simple gameplay, but I think it works in your favor here!

on it! https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-15/rate/4312001

I love how you can really fly by in these levels. Except for that last one! Oh my gosh it was so hard to complete with it blacking out! The jump in difficulty was a bit much - I think it might've worked better if periodically tiles go out, not all of them at once. Otherwise this was a really cute and fun experience!

Love the concept! I think it leaves lots of room for really unique puzzles. I did notice a few bugs . Some collision shapes were not quite true to their shape and it seemed like the time was able to slow down even before absorbing the energy ball thing - not sure if that was intended! But otherwise it was very playable! If I had to suggest one improvement, I would say to tweak a few variables related to the players movement. For a game where precise movement is important, the character had a very long lerp that made them feel very "floaty." I think it would help with enjoyment to make the character lerp a bit less. I did like the high jumps! If they descended a little slowly I think that might've made a really nice touch and add to the in-space theme.

I'd love to hear some more in-depth fedback on my game! Compliments are great but its always appreciated to have someone who can tell it to me straight! https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-15/rate/4312001

Yes please! This is my first jam and I already can't wait to do another one! I'd love to hear some constructive feedback about what I could improve for next time - skills, design aspects, etc. https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-15/rate/4312001

I almost made it a full night!! Gotta love a good Dispatch remake - and the artwork was phenomenal.

I love how funky this game is. I can't help but to think of Cult of the Lamb when playing it. Great job!

There's no way you made this a game ToT

Funky game - I love it! The visuals and theming being a bouncer in hell are hilarious - I love a good pun in the title. The only thing that affected my enjoyment a bit was the cut between bouncer screen and first person checking IDs. For a time-limit style game, It was a bit jarring to switch back and forth so much. Otherwise I loved the oncept!

For a silly little run around and shoot dudes game, I genuinely enjoyed it a lot! I have no idea why I'm supposed to be shooting these guys, but the confetti burst and screen shake when you hit one is way too satisfying!

Great work! The game feels very fleshed out, lots of shop items and levels, overall a solid game! I do think it would have helped to make it a little bit clearer when you select two tools to swap - something like an outline for example. Otherwise I had great fun!

What a creative and fun idea! I love the aspect that you're exploring the ocean and taking photos of sea creatures. I do think the game was a bit punishing at times - it's hard to doge a shark when you move so slow - but otherwise it was great! I love how the screen even gets darker the further you go down!

Well done! Took me a moment to get used to the controls, but I thought it was a well executed version of a classic game.

Wow! This game is absolutely stunning. I love how you incorporated a day/night cycle to add to the ambiance and the racoon popping up here and there adds a cute little bit of mischief to the whole scene. It surely makes you wonder who put those cheese slices in peoples clothes...

What a cute duck! I'm a sucker for pixel art, so of course I had to up the rating. The only change I would suggest is adding music!

Cute game! I love the art style and there's something so adorable about how you collect a bunch of friends along the way!

Thank you! The sprites are my favorite part as well and doing all the drawings was really fun!

Yes! The sprites popping up was meant to add a challenge - I’m glad you noticed! They get faster the more papers you do, so if you click through a bunch it can get really crazy!

Thank you! I definitely think I could’ve done a bit more to game-ify it, but I’m happy to hear you thought it was nicely done!

thank you! I can’t tell you how happy it makes me that someone had fun playing my game :)
