That is exactly the vibe we were going for. Thanks for playing!

Amazing concept, fun interpretation of the theme. Really simple concept, but quite addictive. I’d have loved to see more variation as the levels progressed.
The one thing of feedback is that I found it fun to really quickly rack up combos, but the game seems to incentivise going slow, waiting for areas to shrink and are worth more, and then hit them. That slows down the game, even though I think the game gets better once you manage to rack up combos.
Otherwise, amazing polish and good game!
Thanks for the comment.
Fair feedback about things not being super clear. We overestimated how much time we’d have during the jam to introduce the concept more cleanly. If you wanna try the later puzzles again: character switching is done with [tab] and it will roll the timer back to the last move the character has completed (though won’t roll forward the time).
The puzzles start out easy but become really hard. You do a good job explaining each of the new mechanics before introducing the next one. I’m ashamed to admit I couldn’t actually figure out one of the puzzles and got stuck. The one frustrating thing is that sometimes you know how to solve a puzzle, but you just bump into a wall messing up your movement and you have to start over.
Fun concept: the art style was amazing and the music changing over time was really well done. It would be nice to have the controls explained in the game itself, I had to look up the game page to figure that out. I also didn’t find the puzzles all too intuitive, but I think with some polish the concept is really well done. Good use of the theme, given that stage changes often do happen on a short timer!
Ha, I was actually thinking of Countdown myself when brainstorming for an idea for this jam. It’s a good implementation, though I would’ve loved to see a bit more polish and juice. Maybe instead of showing all of the possible words, have a bit of a fake “possible words were X and Y”, mimicking the show, or some more celebrations, animations, and sound to put everything together. Still, amazing effort.
