Right, that makes sense; trying to create everything in advance would be insane for this campaign, which is technically supposed to take a year. But we still need to make the maps for each battle, even if one or two at a time. The book describes what it should include and look like, but everything is important, like terrain, elevation, exactly where things are positioned, where we start in the map, and where the objective is. In this highly tactical type of game, all that is relevant, and I’m not confident enough to make everything. It’s not the art that bothers me; it’s placement. I want to know where everything goes at the start of battle where enemy’s are supposed to be positioned and where the torrents are protecting that train.

Do you let me know when you have those maps 😅

Okay thank you. Because trying to create all the different maps for every scenario with branching paths of different battles, would drive be crazy. Considering that: positioning, cover, elevation everything is important in this tactical game.

Hi! I recently purchased the Hot Potato + Maximum Threat bundle.

On page 8 of Hot Potato, it mentions downloadable ZIP archives containing battle maps and handouts. However, my download page only contains the campaign PDF and two LCP files.

Are the battle maps available somewhere else, or have they not been uploaded yet?

It's on page 8, in the left column, under the section titled “READ THIS FIRST.”

The paragraph begins:

“This book is complete. It has few dependencies on other external material in Lancer aside from the core rulebook.”

It then says:

“Everything new in this book is provided in the accompanying downloadable zip archives”

And specifically lists “relevant exotic gear, NPC faction templates, battle maps, and relevant handouts.”
