You're right no all counts, I grew impatient with PICO-8 before adding more of an actual "game" component, e.g. more creatures to collect with growing difficulty, time restrictions, a little store, etc. I'm playing with Phaser now and may take a stab at Construct, so there's a good chance I'll port this to one of them and then I can really flesh it out =)

As long as it is more fun that dizzying, I'm happy. =)

Hehe, fair. It's part optical illusion, part educational toy, and slighly nauseating =)

This game's aerodynamics are really good =)

I love this game's use of ancient cartography as a navigation interface! =)

Thank you! I feel like I need to learn a lot more about game design in general before I can go back to PICO-8 minimalism ... but I do like the platform, just a matter of me learning complexity before I can properly embrace simplicity=)

Great game, especially the Lighthouse Keeper =)

I'm considering a switch to Phase which would make this more reliable keyboard-wise I think. Thanks for playing! =)

I'm glad you like the art, thank you! If I port this idea to a more flexible platform I'll def. add more variety to the creature(s) and a more interactive wave matching process =)

Thank you =)

I'll put a nausea warning on the next version, haha

Thank you! I found the PICO platform a little too limiting so I switched my submission for another Phaser game, but I may come back to this one later and port it to a platform that gives me a little more flexibility so I can address your recommendations =)

Thank you! I hope it was more enjoyable than rage-inducing though =)

Loved it, a very commendable entry.

Thank you! Itch won't let me rate your game yet, but I made it to the end and it was terrific =)

This is an excellent game! Lovely UI and art, fun mechanics, sensible level difficulty (perfect for Game Off), and very soothing audio. Great job you two! =)
