As someone who was skeptical at first, I greatly appreciate the transparency. AI-generated images are starting to infiltrate a lot of games, especially on Itch, and sometimes it makes it hard for people who want to support actual artists over machine-made visuals. 
Major props to the team for seeing the community's concerns, acknowledging the validity of those feelings, and using it as a moment to showcase the love and effort that actually goes into creating this game. 💜

I think it is at least partially AI generated 💀
There's a weird artifact with the hair under the jawline and some other specific aspects that make it very reminiscent of AI. It doesn't seem to be 100% purely generated, but I wouldn't be surprised if AI was used in some part of the process

yes, it's definitely AI

AI just takes all of the charm out of the visuals, even hand-made art that isn't as refined still has so much more character than AI slop
