I just ran a test myself and Ren'py seemed to build the new project just fine using the template with its current name! Are you using Windows or another OS? Happy to rename it if it is an issue, of course (thanks for bringing it to my attention)
Hiya! Ren'py does have the ability to use a gallery but you'll need to add it yourself using the assets included in the pack (the scalabe Frame will be particularly of use making something without bespoke images).
The documentation has basic info on how to add a gallery, but there is free to use code for it on itchio as well if you can't manage it.
