Haha, fair enough I shouldn't have assumed. Although the standalone version also received some optimization, it should preform much better now on systems with less powerful GPUs.

If you die in Pinball, you die for real! Experience the classic arcade game with a Russian Roulette murderpop twist, and go for the Big Score! Don't worry about getting your head blown off, who even said that could happen?
The demo includes the first half of Act 1 of the story mode, Infinite Tournament with global leaderboards, and online PvP so you can play "pinball" against your friends.
Thank you for playing, and for your detailed feedback!
I fully agree on the game being a bit too easy, these games for the Saskatoon Global Game Jam were all setup in a computer lab with people walking around, only getting a small amount of time for each game. For that reason I wanted to err on the side of being too easy, rather than being too hard and no-one being able to beat it.
Also I'm glad you enjoyed the story, haha.
Quite a fun incremental game! Fun game-loop of shooting down missiles, collecting resources, and upgrading. Great music choice as well.
Some ideas include:
- Some enemy types: maybe a bomber plane that drops multiple missiles unless its shot down, maybe a 'cluster' missile that splits into multiple missiles shortly before the ground doing lots of damage, etc.
- I think it would feel a bit better if some of the 'waiting' time was cut down. I would never buy the "increased safe period between waves" as it meant less research and missile drop income. That upgrade would feel much better if it was just "instant 10s of progress to all buildings between waves". Possibly also a skip button for ashfalls other than the first.
- Have an upgrade for each building type that sets/increases the maximum number of that building active would help smooth out the progression curve.
I really love the visual design and graphics of this (other than the chatGPT thumbnail)! I have hosted a hacking CTF (alongside an AI battle game) a few years back and have a decent amount of cybersecurity know-how, and I think the terminal breach minigame is very well done.
Ironically, I decided to 'hack' this game and wrote some javascript that can inject the WebSockets of the page and send attack packets at the press of a button. Meaning I can insta-win any game, since there is no cooldown checking and all attack packets are trusted.
In my opinion some minigames are clearly better than others, and I think the balance would be improved by not resetting the minigames when swapping to another. This would allow you to multi-task minigames (like crypto miner which has a lot of waiting) and would raise the skill ceiling.
Overall, very cool entry! Even though I never actually was able to match-make with another player, it kept me entertained for a while.

Quite fun, there seem to be quite a few bugs in the final build, but such is the nature of game jams haha. The trailer is very well made and demonstrates the game working in ways that appear to be broken in the build. So it seems that some things got broken along the way. Overall quite a fun adventure thrilling adventure game!
