Ouuu the flickering lights would have been a good idea, wish we thought of that.  Thanks for the feedback and for trying out the game!

Thanks for trying the game out! Will take your critique into consideration for future jams :)
Also yes more creatures did spawn as the sanity got lower!

Thank you for playing the game and thanks for recording a video! It's kind of hard to do a blind run of the game when you helped make the game haha so it's cool to see someone else try it out.

Need to find the fuel as well! It's in the storage section.

okay so I was able to test it myself at work.

If you open terminal and do the following it will work

Cd downloads(assuming its in your downloads)

Cd mac(if you know how to do both these in go cool)

Chmod +x Game.app/Contents/MacOS/rpginabox

Then go to privacy and security settings and allow the game to run.

I wish it was easier and there probably is an easier way in the future but at least thats how I got it to work at work.

This was the response the developer gave me -

I'm not sure, I would need more details beyond the generic error they provided to narrow it down more. Not too familiar with MacOS, but I know that it can be overzealous when blocking things from running. They could try running this "chmod +x" command to give the app executable permissions as it may not have them by default, this article has an example: https://superuser.com/questions/1345755/how-to-fix-the-application-cant-be-opene... - they'd open a Terminal window where the game is located and run a command like this:

```chmod +x Game.app/Contents/MacOS/rpginabox```
Thinking more about it, though, they could also try installing and running it through the itch.io desktop app, as I believe it fixes the permissions automatically when it installs the game. There's a bit here about it: https://docs.itch.ovh/itch/v23.6.1/integrating/platforms/macos.html. Not sure if that's the issue, but probably worth trying that before messing with the command above.
Thanks for the update. I'll forward what you said to the creator of RPGiaB he's pretty quick on response time for being a solo engine developer.
Again not sure how exactly mac works with stuff but is it due to being in a zip folder? Should I use a rar or something?
I'll also check on my side to make sure the stuff uploaded correctly
Can you tell me whats happening? Wont open at all? I sadly don't actually have a Mac to test it... but ill do my best
Thanks!
is it possible the resolution was off and you couldn't see the colored box on the left side that you could click on to put the fish in your scaled fish inventory?
(I know I was getting an issue where if I set the resolution to low or sometimes the full screen cut off part of the game)
I cant really test things on mac sadly as I dont own a Mac.
Thanks for playing 😊
O like an alternative that could be cool is trying to utilize a feature that most people don't use everytime. I doesn't have to be like you purely have to do it in this way but like bonus points if you incorporate this mechanic into the game. Like having the ability to jump, or moving platforms. Whatever it is it can help with getting people out of their comfort zone and maybe try part of the engine they haven't tried.
Honestly I think a week is a perfect amount of time, there was a lot of burnout at the end where I technically had one more day to work on stuff. I'm personally not a fan of game jams that go on too long because then I feel like I have forever to get the project done and too short is just a stress basket. I know a lot of other Jams do that special object or whatever or release the theme closer to the actual event day or on the start of the event which could be cool(Maybe we can come up with some alternative to this for the future?). I don't want to say it was like cheating but I definitely had pretty much all my ideas of how the game was going to work like a week before I started, and I don't know if that's fair for someone else who doesn't work well unless they start making the game. But this is mostly just saying that people are different so its kind of understandable to not meet in the middle and I really just liked doing a game jam with a community of people, so I would be more willing to change up my anticipations for a future jam. I thought the theme was definitely a perfect way to jump into doing jams on the server, felt natural to do a spooky related  game jam for the spooky season. Maybe you could also include a way for other creators and players to rate the game, as like a community vote. Doesn't actually have to correlate as a prize but it would be nice to know how some people feel about playing my game.
I didn't finish because my game crashed and I had to prepare for work. I love the concept and style it's amazing. But it's also kind of BS that you walk through a door and the enemy is already attacking you.
Thanks!
Gotta stay hydrated lol. Thanks for playing the game!
We might add more stuff to the game at some point or at least clean up a couple of the bugs we weren't able to fix in the Game Jam release. Like making all the sinks drinkable. I'll also keep in mind your other suggestion about walk speed.
Thank you for trying out the game and sticking with it even after all the trouble you had! We never tested anything in AZERTY before so we were definitely slacking on that front. Definitely something to consider in future games as well as possibly updating this game to allow for an AZERTY layout.
Thank you!
We should have really added it to all the sinks but I'm pretty sure it's only tied to one sink so very possible you missed it.
Thanks for trying the game, I just responded to everyone else but there was a way to heal in the bathroom sink that wasn't very obvious. It was pretty much one of the last things we added 😅
Thank you for trying it and sorry for not responding sooner, we are in the middle of a trip so I haven't been using my phone to much. I responded to another comment, there is a way to heal in the bathroom by drinking out of the sink. It's not very obvious so I can see why people would miss it.
First off thanks for playing! There is actually a way to heal in one of the bathrooms by drinking out of the sink. It wasn't very obvious but it was the quickest way to throw in an option for healing.
Fair! The best way I would explain it without actually having a tutorial set up or being in person to show you is its kind of like tic tac toe to an extent. As the cat you want to make sure that the cats with icons above there head all have the same or most of the same icon above there head. Then you call a vote and for every vote matching what you called your approval rating goes up a point, every point not matching it goes down a point. The rat is able to bonk the cats with its shovel to change the vote of the cats but only a certain amount of times. If you don't allow a cat to vote or bonk them they also will lower your approval rating. If your approval goes down to zero or is less than 50% at the end of a round you lose. The Controls are in the screenshots. We are planning on doing an update to at least have a tutorial showing you how to play and stuff but we rushed to make sure we had an upload for the game jam. Thanks for checking out the game!
Did you download both the .exe and the .pck? They need to be in the same folder. This was our first time making a game so messed up when uploading the content. The Zip file is an updated version of the game which was submitted late but it fixed a bug in the Game Jam release.
(Edit) We changed it to just an exe.
Game loads to the start menu but when I hit start it goes black
