Hey hey heyyyy the aroaces! The aroaces! I'm looking!!

That Bai Lu Jing illustration hurts my heart T__T The chatlog esque format is so sweet. And their gentle but silly dialogue exchanges and inner commentary are very touching and funny. You can definitely sense a building affection and desire to reach the truth of one another's experiences between them... there's definitely a feeling of more hmm straightforwardness and openness from one than the other, and this persists the whole way through even when it is not textual? It is surprisingly contemplative and closely referential to tragedy at times but also very heartwarming, even or especially when it kind of reaches the point where it is most vulnerable. I find that gives way to mutual vulnerability cuz of psychological feedback loops between these characters.

and the preservation of those dice rolls helps to keep things fresh hehe

And the explanation for their acronym at the end took me OUT. Waow

The composition on every one of these illustrations is just wild?! It took me a while to recognize the blood red color on some of these natural forms that combines with tranquil blue, but it's everywhereee. The reminiscence and flashback colors [I feel flashback is a different experience in reference to this] are also SO DIFFERENT WOW and I wish I knew more abt Chang'e and the Mid Autumn Festival because it seems very important to interpreting the reading...

Also to anyone who buys this, you must look at the extra pages past the comic. You must!! They are essential, and may have caused me to die and regenerate multiple times, I think.

worthwhile read just for zhou linfeng's attitude toward being offered food and beverages

In all seriousness, a truly beautiful work! It tackles some really heavy social topics but in an empathetic way that imo very well parallels what gender roles can do in reality. but also has some really well thought through ABO worldbuilding that ties nicely into the case progress. Very good characterization, so that it feels like everyone involved in the encounters leading up to the story events really do have their own complex motivations \^v^/ and, ahem, some very good foreshadowing, too.

The story's implied outcome is not what you'd expect at first but makes perfect sense in these specific circumstances as a way to minimize the relevant harm done within that available framework, methinks. also. and there is a glossary, which is so important to me as someone with language processing issues and gives some very nice insight on the relevant historical research.

I think I was asked to confirm the file integrity so everything looks good to me personally, no crispy images and no info transmission failures or obvious formatting problems! whee
