So glad to hear that! :D Really happy to hear you all had fun!

There are four total adventures in Chronicles of the Wilds, Volume 1, so definitely more room to play with what is provided, and of course, the core book has a ton of story hooks and Monsters to discover!

I'll be uploading the card backs tomorrow, so you'll be able to download and print them. It was the one thing I forgot!

So glad you're happy with your PDF :)

In solidarity,

George

Ah well I'm glad I brought it to your attention! :) The campaign runs until March 4th. You can find the link here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/threesailsstudios/mappa-mundi-an-exploratio...

Hello and thanks for the questions! I'll do my best to answer them :)

1) No, players must move up through the dice. This represents them gaining training in the given ability. Dice move from d4 to d6 to d8 to d12 (there is no d10, which is where the confusion might have come in?)

2) The intent behind that is to give players a conundrum :) Do they choose to make unlocking new Skills easier by making Checks harder to achieve (a lower dice makes more difficult tasks harder), or do they choose to make Checks easier by upgrading their dice, making them more generally capable out in the world, but make Skills harder to unlock. A specific design choice in this case! :)

I hope that answers your questions! If there's anything else I can help with, just let me know. And don't forget, Mappa Mundi is now live on Kickstarter, and the most up to date version of the rules (the Quickstart Guide) is available on the KS page.

Hey :)
It isn't designed as a solo RPG, but we are currently working on some pre-written 'choose your own adventure' style chapters to facilitate solo play.
Mappa Mundi also works really well with two players, one as the Narrator and one as a lone Chronicler setting out into the Wilds!

No problem! :) I hope you enjoy the prerelease guide. There is plenty more artwork to come, and we'll be sharing it on Discord, Facebook, and our mailing list!

The artist for the cover (and for the whole book, and for all Three Sails Studios projects) is Joel Kilpatrick :)
