Other thing i forgot to say, the sfx are really good, the reload, shoot, especially the slow time sfx, its all realllly clean
also the shadows are also realllly nice :3

also, the gun dosnt work when time is slowed......

also, you can open multiple ui menus at the same time? (store and Jacksons dialogue...)

also, i really like the voice acting :33

So, Love the game! Couple things:

first of all, great game, i loveeee the art and the music is super dope

that being said, there are a couple changes that if i were you i'd make:


1) you cant shoot to the left and slightly up, it just.... dosnt work?
2) there is no cooldown for the shooting so the game becomes basically click as fast as you can simulator
3) i would tone down the shooting gun screen shake quite a bit it feels kinda... earthquakey...
4) reloading feels very inconsequential as you just immediately do it at the click of a button
5) when i shoot enemies, they do pause, but they also move to their left? i dont know why that is, but it felt weird while playing
6) when in the upgrade menu, you can still shoot when you try to select things
7) is samples health? was that explained?
8) monsters only spawn from one location on the map
9) there is an issue with the ui where you cant see the full thing (eg. axbullets instead of maxbullets) that may just be my weird resolution though


just some ideas that you can ignore if you want:

1) maybe make bullets a resource that you have to restock on? like enemies drop them or theres ammo boxes around the map, that way it makes the reloading more dynamic
2) maybe make it so when you shoot, you yourself get pushed back a little bit, this might make the shooting itself more responsive
3) maybe make the monsters spawn from doors around the map like you might see in cod zombies?
4) i would personally make the ability ui less opaque? its very bright and yellow and impossible to see through


i think this is very fun already! and more than that, this has a great framework for a bunch of different customization and interesting things like, different guns, different enemies, powerups, abilities, items, etc.

the music is bopping

the combat effects look really smooth! the way they like invert(?) and fly backwards, really nice

i really like the gameplay loop, the  powerups feel really smooth and nice.

This game is a really great game! i love the golf line of travel, really really good truly. overall, the game is just really really good, but the part i love the most is the music and art. the sprites are soooo cute and the music is just fulllll of straight bangers, really amazing job! I really enjoyed playing this game:333

I love the this! Funky music, fun sprite, lovely sfx, a very addicting gameplay loop, its wonderful!! This feeel like a game i would download on my phone and then play like... 30 hours while waiting for something (or procrastinating a gamejam) really good game!

I lvoe the gameplay! it feeel kinda like celeste in a way? the music and the movement are just kind of similar. Not in a bad way though! truly all the good things.

i really loved the art and the sfx, and (not to sound like a broken record) but the music. all of it really help with the overall atmosphere! really really good :33

ps. i think theres something with the dead kings interact box? it feels a little large :3

Great game i love the gameplay loop, really satisfying. i love the art too! its simplistic in a way, but it works really really well for the game overall. i couldnt find any bugs, well done!!! :D

I love the game! the badeline (from celeste) esque fight worked really well into the story!! also that rewind mechanic was very very smooth! the movement and art were also sooo goood. i loved the glowing text, it really added to the atmosphere and ambience.

i will say, during the fight, i tried to rewind in one section and it jettisoned me down to the bottom left of the map into the void..?
edit: i played it through again and could not replicate it but did notice that sometimes if you jump right you can float in mid air while being able to move and it dosnt stop till you jump...

but overall, really great game :3
p.s. the silly writing in the corners made me laugh ^w^

p.p.s. i think the ending screen is very clever

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO goood, i just had to beat it.
its so simple, yet offers a very unique challenge it def reminds of like... snes/nes vibes in all the right ways

i did get this thing where sometimes (i think it was because i spammed f a bunch after dying) where the game would start, but the menu would still be there and then it cleared up next time i died so :p.

all in all, very well done, the game is basically shippable in my opinion. amazing job

Oh my gosh Oh my gosh absolutely stunningggg visually.

there are some tweaks that need to happen with the  movement a little bit, but the art, the gameplay, amazing fantastic!!

This feels like a really good stepping stone to something really really good. you have wonderful colourscheme, great pixel art, the music is delightful. the only thing is that, there are a lot of stuff you could make puzzles/levels with that you just didnt.  (like the boxes)

but other than that, it was a really fun game! i enjoyed it :3

there was an issue i had where when i respawned the ceiling disappeared? so... yeh!

the sounds need some tweaking but were still really good,

very good game :3 very enjoyable

The game is reallly fun!!  I love the shuriken mechanic especially. The game has an interesting curve to it. at the beginning you feel like you can just run around, no need for stealth, then it gets a little harder and you have to wait for people to look away, use smokes etc, but by the end, it was really cool to be able to time the shuriken perfectly that i could run forward and get a bunch of stealth kills reallly quickly.

my one gripe about the game is to do with the final boss? it feels rushed. the whole game we're learning all of these skills, but then at the very end it culminated to just.... wacking this dude until he keels over. but other than that!!! great game!!!!! 

Soooooooooooooooo good. really amazing story, truly heartfelt.
i did accidentally throw the ring away a few times... and in the 60 second room, for some reason it wouldnt let me put down the locker combo paper (the three digit one) and it messed up my first run.

but truly truly great game

Very fun game:3 very responsive movement,  it feels very natural. also, the attacks are well choreographed and all feel super interesting! great boss rush, truly really good :3

Really Really fun game!! The mechanics and gameplay loop are just soooo satisfying, and the music is such a vibe!!!!

I think that this game is fantastic as it is! it's basically already a full game! The only thing i think may be like... something for once you get past a certain point? i got to round 36 and had full 3-tier slots and in order to continue i had to delete a fully upgraded bot because it wouldnt let me continue without adding one...

the solution to this might be at certain point unlocking more squares, having different levels, or something else. Or if thats part of the game then dope :3

honestly! amazing game, could (and did) play for a very very long time :333

edit: I didnt mention this at first, i played it a bit more and i really like the moving around menus :33 they feel very squish and good!

just played the game!! I really loved the music and sfx, the art was really good too!!

Halfway through I realized that I could dash and attack in Quick succession which was really fun, don't know if that's a big or a feature, but it felt really really good!

I loved the movement overall! The walljump was really big which felt nice!

I really like the art and animations, the modularness of the back panel and the lights on the back work really well to let you know what you need to do, and the the timer light... things... work really well with the rest of the atmosphere!
i also love the music ^w^, the very subdle "boot bots" in the background lmao, very cool :3

the game almost felt... cozy? in the way you just sort of, try to figure out what each node was worth and then reach your goal? very cool, very calming :3

i think the one thing i would say you mightve wanted to add (or if there is already, im just too dumb to find the pattern...) is some logic behind the worth of each segment? It may add some complexity there if you want.

truly though! the 3d modeling is superb, and all of the music and sfx are really great. I truly dont know why your game hasnt been played more, it deserves wayy more ratings!

I'm sorry, I couldnt figure out how to open this game? I looked around in the file explorer but couldnt find an application or executable file to open. If you know how im supposed to open it then I can try to play it again and then i will give it a rating :3

Honestly? I can't tell why you havent gotten any comments or reviews! This game is great!!! I love the art and the music. especially the enemies! I love the sound effects as well!
I will say, i couldnt ever perfectly understand the attacks in the game? i know how the explosion works, but just the flash? with z? I don't know...
there also seemed to be a few bugs i found. 
1) when you get damaged, you can still take more damage and also charge up a flashlight burst, and if that burst kills the enemies you beat the room, even if you shouldnt
2) (honestly more movement tech than bug) you go faster if you hold up, while against a wall and walking to the side.
3)after the first door opened, this never went away?


6) i think just generally, there are a couple things that you could tweak with hitboxes and such

but that being said, im being nitpicky, i like the flashlight mechanic, and the game play is really fun! I think this idea is super original and i would love to see a more finished project!!! And truly, for new to gamejam devs, this is amazing!! you guys should be so proud of yourselves:3


edit:   I've played it a few more times. ive got the attack down, its really nice! i do kind of wish that i could attack up and down with the regular flashlight. Also, in the door room, i keep getting softlocked? you go in and kill the ghost and the doors dont get unlocked :p. still a really good game! :D

Overall, the game was really nice! I was first treating flight like mario 3 racoon suit, but it seems like once you fly for long enough you just... get infinite flight? I think there is an extent to which i dont quite understand what part of the movement causes... that. But the everything else was great! i especially loved the bird flight animation!!, and it felt really nice to alllmost hit the ground and then pull up at the last minute! I had lots of fun, very well done :33

Ok, i played it a few times and i wanted to say that i reallllly liked it!! It felt so cozy and sweet. I loved the art! I loved the Music! Honestly great!!
That being said, i did notice a few interesting quirks and i wrote them down while i played:

1) i really like your custom godot entrance screen, that was extra work that most people wouldnt have put in to do but it makes your game way more immersive:3 

2) the music is so funky fresh :00000

3) I really like the text erasing and appearing animation with the lines at the start

4) wish there was a way to know if i was in erase mode or not, also to know the angle of rotation that i was on (like a preview projection onto the tilemap perhaps

5) I like the different speeds of tracks :3 very cool idea

6) it might be a good idea to implement some... path conserving mechanic. as it is now, there is no reason for me to use any block other than 80 mph blocks and i can make as dumb of tracks as i want, a cost or something might solve that :3

7) also sometimes (pretty much only on the two depot levels), when on the 80mphs road, only one of the cars will go fast? 

8) also... one of the times... i just pressed start twice and it let me win? I tried this again on other levels and it looks like only one of the cars needs to make it for you to win, you just have to re-press start when the one gets there. This, in combination with the 80mph tiles makes it really easy to beat the final levels

9) also i couldnt figure out what switching cars did, when i tried it it didnt let the cars go, so i just played the game using only the car 1 selected and it worked

Honestly a really good game, with just a little bit of work, maybe a couple more mechanics, this game would be one i would play for hours :3

Ive been thinking about making the wheel more of a... you spin around it, rather than just lateral movement causing rotation. That way i can also use the lateral movement for a different minigame!

 gotta be honest... i was originally going to write a review that was like "amazing game! It was unreasonably hard in some parts... but thats really just a skill issue on my part!" and then i realized.... i forgot there was a dash in the game.....

overall! great art and music! really nice attacks that keep you on your toes :3. I especially like the dodecahedron that spins around if you stay still for too long.

the onee thing i think would be useful would be if either: the dash lasted longer, there was some greater indication of the duration and activation of the dash, or if the dash made you faster than it does currently!

I really loved this game! Truly very fun :3. The mechanics were simple to learn yet difficult to master, the platforms were challenging yet not impossible, and the game was full and fleshed out :3.

With that, i have but one qualm. the dash did feel a bit unintuitively long? Now this of course comes with the caveat that I think the dash length worked well for the game. I'll explain what i mean. i think that in the context of the player model, the dash seemed too long. This caused me to overshoot every dash section a bunch of times. I think it may feel more intuitive if that dash were a bit more proportional to the character sprite size. that being said! with the size of the map, I feel like the dash length was amazing! with such a wide pov, the long dash made me feel fast and agile. That is to say, I think it's a wonderful mechanic that works well in the game, but a few of the jumps are not made for the sheer size it is. IF you want that challenge to be a part of the game, then i think you're solid! but if those jumps that are jussst too close arent what you're looking for, then i would adjust something.

overall! Amazing game! I liked the level design, especially your use of moving platforms! Honestly, if you had twice as many levels, I still would have played them all, very cool, very good, I loved it :33
