Hi! Wow, that is really cool. I didn’t realize Duckie ’n’ Egg had such a different idea from Flicky, but now it makes total sense. The shadow mechanic and the fast-moving sun were really creative choices, and they gave the game a unique vibe, almost like a little pressure-based puzzle. I genuinely enjoyed that.

And seriously, the fact that you made absolutely everything by yourself is impressive. The music was super charming too, and I never would have guessed it was made with Chrome Music Lab. You clearly have a strong creative eye and ear for this kind of work.

About the levels: honestly, even with just five, it still feels like a complete little experience. Game jams are tough, and working against the clock is totally normal, but you still managed to deliver something fun and well made. I’m excited to see the other levels whenever you feel ready to add them, with no pressure at all.

I’m also really happy to hear that you’re still working on the Juicy the Orange demo. A cave level sounds amazing. I’ll be cheering for you while you finish everything.

Thanks for sharing your work with me, and I hope you have a great day too!

I’m really sorry, man, and I understand your whole situation. I relate a lot to your pain and your feelings. I know what it’s like to get frustrated with a project we were excited about and suddenly get tired of it.

But know that Juicy the Orange was very important for your development as a Game Dev. Absolutely no one can take away the knowledge you gained. Don’t feel pressured to continue a project that no longer excites you. There’s a phrase I like a lot that says: “sometimes, loving is letting go.” Now you can feel ready for new projects, with new ideas, and now you have more experience as a game developer.

I know it sounds cliché, but follow your heart. What matters is your happiness regarding that project or game. You can be sure you’re not disappointing anyone, so don’t worry. If you ever feel bad again, you can send me an email so we can talk more. I hope you feel better. Hugs!

Wow, I didn’t know my messages and comments made you that happy! I’m sorry for taking a while to reply! Just know that if you ever need to vent or need a friendly shoulder to lean on, you can always send me an email! It’s a shame that you had to discontinue your project, but I know there will be many others, and I’m sure you’ll be happy creating them!

Oh, I’m sorry, I think I expressed myself poorly. I did play Delivery Berrie, I just wasn’t able to finish it. I had trouble in the last parkour section, so I stopped there. What I meant was that I didn’t complete the whole game, not that I never played it. Sorry for the confusion, my English isn’t the best 😅

Hello again, Joshington! I’m here to comment on your game! First of all, I found your excitement and enthusiasm in making this game really interesting. I could tell that you were very motivated by the idea, and I’m glad you managed to finish/bring it to life!

Well, here we go! Once again, I really like your art style; I think it’s very beautiful and very well done! I have nothing to criticize, haha.

I’m not sure if you know the game Flicky, or if you were inspired by it, but I found it quite similar, and I actually liked that! If you don’t know it, here’s a video of some gameplay:

(I didn’t expect the video to open here in my comment LOL)

The only things I’d mention are that some parts felt a bit overwhelming for me, like the flashing lights while the background moves. All of that happening at the same time felt a little strange and made my eyes hurt a bit. Maybe slowing down the flashing lights or making the background move a bit more slowly could help.

I really liked the mechanic of the duck going to the nest and the platforms too! They turned out really fun!

Rating: 7/10

Hello Joshington! I’d like to apologize in advance for taking so long to play your game, but now I finally played it (I’ll play the remaining ones, of course).

I simply LOVED your art style! I personally adore pixel art, I find it very nostalgic and beautiful to look at (and you did it perfectly!). Everything looks really nice, from the menu to the characters, backgrounds, and more... all of them have very vivid and elegant colors.

The soundtrack and sound effects are fantastic! I’m impressed that you managed to do all of this alone in such a short time (congratulations!).

By the way, it’s really interesting that you made a platformer. From my point of view, you thought outside the box (I found that really interesting!).

Some feedback: I had a slight feeling that the character was “sliding” while walking (but technically it makes sense, since he’s kind of like a slime/jelly, I’d say). It didn’t bother me much, but I noticed it (it almost seems intentional, haha).

I got stuck on the platform when trying to climb the obstacles (after the part with that “saw,” I’m not sure how to translate that into English). I really couldn’t make that jump, I tried countless times. Maybe you could add another platform somewhere between easy and difficult (you know?).

(I’m not sure if I managed to give a good critique, sorry.) :(

But overall, I really liked it! You’re a great game developer!

Hi Joshington! Thank you so much for the compliments, I’m really glad you played my game! It was made for a college assignment, and it was the first time I had ever made a game completely on my own, and also my first time making a game in Twine. I made everything in less than a month! Well, you can be sure that in the future I’ll adapt this game to English, so you can have a more immersive experience! By the way, I’m working on a new Twine game with a friend of mine. We’re super excited to make it (I promise I’ll try to adapt it into English).

Sorry for not replying to your emails, I’ve been a bit busy, but I promise I’ll get back to them! I’ll play your game and give my humble comment/feedback, haha! I truly appreciate that you’re enjoying my work. Oh, and it would be really cool if you went back to making games in Twine, I’m sure you’d enjoy it, and if you run into any difficulties, I can help you!

Thank you! You’re such a kind and polite person too. I really loved your game, it’s very well made. I enjoyed the art, the soundtrack, and the gameplay, you’re an excellent game designer, congratulations!

I’m glad to hear that you’re working on a new project. Honestly, I’m really looking forward to seeing the final result once it’s ready.

It’s a pity that you don’t have Instagram, but that’s fine! I don’t have a proper contact email yet either, but I do have this one that I usually use for more “professional” occasions, haha. Feel free to contact me if you’d like: tauaneduarte052@gmail.com

Thanks again for your attention!

Thank you so much for the support! The upgrade idea is something I really want to expand after the jam, it has a lot of potential to improve the driving and progression. I'm happy you saw that potential and I hope to release a more polished version soon!

Thanks a lot for pointing those things out! There are indeed some bugs that affected the experience, especially the random deaths and the upgrade system. I plan to revisit these mechanics after the jam to make them clearer and more functional. I really appreciate your honest feedback!

Thank you so much for the comment! I'm really glad you noticed the effort and attention to detail, especially in the models and the music. There’s still room for improvement in the gameplay, but your feedback truly motivates me to keep polishing the project!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I was in charge of the 3D modeling, so I’m truly honored that you liked it! This was my first game jam, so I’m still a newbie in this field, haha. I really appreciate your comment, my friend!

Hello again, Joshington! Yes, I’m a woman! Thank you for replying to me again. If you’d like to chat, feel free to follow me on Instagram! @tataudraws

You’re more than welcome to follow and send me a message! Oh, and thank you for the congratulatory messages!

Hi, Joshington! Thank you so much for playing Delivery Dash and leaving such a detailed and precise feedback! I’m really glad you liked the 3D visuals. I was responsible for all the modeling work, so it’s great to know you enjoyed it.

I completely understand all the points you mentioned regarding the gameplay, and I’ll share your observations with the team so we can consider them for future improvements. It was great to see your honesty, and you did an amazing job giving constructive criticism.

I truly appreciate that you took the time to play our game and analyze everything so carefully. Oh, and I’ll definitely check out Delivery Berrie! I hope this way we can get to know each other’s work better! 😊
