since this games a part of a college project, they suggested the idea of making a poster to show off the game, so i drew abit of inspiration from the ps1 magazines and tried to make a dual page spread in that style but using my game instead.

just as a rundown of whats available aka what ive implemented from concept, ive got an early starting area and cutscene, leading into the cathedral which will be a introduction to the players basic moveset and will help player wrap their head around the gameplay, whilst also serving as a way to help the player learn what type of world theyre in through passages that will be scattered through out the cathedral. sort of setting the player up with the basic story premise whilst theyre getting used to the gameplay. after a few rooms, the player will encounter their first boss, teaching the player how they can flip between sides to help aid them in combat and help avoid any attacks thrown their way, i havent got any concept art yet but it will be a sort of mutated tree like boss, which is only on one side and can switch at will, making it so that you will have moments where you cant attack it by just switching to the shade side, and must almost trick the boss into switching back to the other side to get an attack in. after the boss is defeated, he will introduce the player to the main threat and objective of the game, where the player will be struck with a dilema, depending on which route they take it could lead to 2 different endings, whever the player sides with the bright or shade side. i wont spoil anything yet and will keep it vague for now, but after this, the player will have access to explore the rest of the carcass forest, with some areas both locked and unlocked. but will set the game in motion no less.

i want to include a sort of devlog on this itch.io page for anybody interested in my game, just to check out progress and the active changes made, aswell as including new details on the games story, environments and characters. a build should be uploaded once i have a minimal viable product, which should consist of the main menu, opening custcene and area, cathedral level and boss after the cathedral level, with the cathedral acting as a sort of tutorial for the games controls and a briefing for the character to uncover what type of world they have entered.

Yeah I realise the controls are a bit clunky, like the grabbing and platform throw, but this is only my first attempt at a game jam, and if I would continue work in this making it into a full game, I would definetly fix the controls first
