I had a great time playing this game! The controls are simple to get used to quickly, the graphics were clear and nice to look at, and it was really cool hearing original music and sound effects.

I've heard other people in the comments say this is a "rage game" that was intentionally designed to be frustrating, but I don't think that was the case at all; all of the levels had straightforward designs that I immediately understood how to navigate, so I actually thought it was pretty easy. I do think it would be nice to include a few more checkpoints, though, especially because the stalactites don't respawn, so some rooms are emptier after you go through them the first time.

To give the game some extra polish, I'd suggest adding some sound effects for bouncing on a springy platform and collecting a star (since you do those often). Also, recoloring the electric traps to be darker or less visible when their sound is off would make it more clear that they can't harm you in that state. Finally, since the game is about collecting stars, I'd love to see a count of how many stars in the game you collected on the end screen.

Overall, this is excellent for just a month of development time, and I can't wait to see what you can make in the future!

Thank you so much! I've submitted this project to SAGE 2024, and I'm very happy that someone else is as enthusiastic about this as I am.

Thank you so much!

Hi! I loved your review!!

Thank you so much for your feedback. I'll make sure to release an update with a pause screen that lets you quit out of the Windows version.

I've just released an update to Snap Pals which fixes the game's biggest issue!

The presentation is really nice, especially the 3D models and music.
However, it took me several tries to finally realize I could sprint with the Shift key (it's mentioned nowhere in-game, only in the game's description).
There's no reason not to sprint, and you move so slowly otherwise that beating the game is nearly impossible! I would personally just give the player one consistently fast speed; that would make the game a lot more enjoyable.
Also, as others have said, making the instructions stay on screen for longer would definitely help.

As other people have said, the game could use some music and the controls could be a little less confusing, but overall, this is really simple and fun!

A decent shoot 'em up that could use some more variety - maybe different types of wi-fi connectors you encounter could power up your ship.
Also, there seems to be no objective at all other than simply surviving (the game doesn't keep track of anything other than lives).

Pretty simple and fun.
A standout issue is that most of the attack patterns are nearly impossible to react to when you first see them, but that's somewhat offset by the generous amount of HP you have.

A highly immersive and enjoyable experience.
My only complaint is that it can be frustrating having to completely redo each level's slow-going puzzles if one character dies; I'd suggest adding a checkpoint midway through some of the longer levels.

I'm a sucker for platformers, so I found this quite enjoyable! It definitely could use either music or sound effects, though...

A pretty cool take on standard chess, with simple, yet effective aesthetics that suit the game well. Good job!

I really dig the minimalist 3D aesthetic, especially [INSERT COOL POSTER HERE].
I couldn't manage to find the USB port (the flash drive's controls could definitely use some improvement), but I had plenty of fun spinning around the room!
Nice job!

Thanks so much! Your game was really fun, too.

Hi, everyone!
Thanks for all your positive feedback! I'm planning to release an update for Snap Pals after the jam has finished, which should fix all the issues you've mentioned.
I can't believe I didn't figure out that Pink being on top was way too powerful until after I submitted! I definitely plan to address that.

This game has the best death sequence in a video game ever.

Simple and very fun with stellar presentation. Well done!

A solid game in all departments. It's nice how there are multiple ways to solve each puzzle - intentional or otherwise.

A brilliant concept with pretty fun, simple gameplay, but it's pretty difficult just to keep the ambulance from falling off each course, let alone keep the baby "connected" inside of it.
Also, the sound effects can get annoying really quickly, but the Sound slider in the Options menu only adjusts noises from the baby, not the ambulance.
