Here's what's happening: there's no login system, so each player's progress (and their spot on the leaderboard) is tied to their browser's local storage rather than an account. A private/incognito tab starts with completely empty storage, so the game treats you as a brand-new player there, starting over from $0 — that's why you don't see yourself on the leaderboard in that tab, even though your real progress is safe in your normal tab.
