No, this is mostly an epic story with unique and extremely well written characters that each have their own quirks, desires, insecurities, and goals. You form meaningful relationships with them, and there are only 3 instances of "side girls".
You'll find yourself adoring the characters quickly, and by the end you'll be chomping at the bit for the next update just to see the story unfold.
Admittedly it is charged with sexuality but it has never felt (to me, at least) like that is the MAIN focus.
I love how natural of a progression Rebecca and the MC have. They know that they got off to a rough start, but their affection grows naturally as MC grows into Hero-ness and shows he really does want to help.
Luna is a peach and I will do anything for her...
But Lucy truly is best girl. That heart of gold is too precious for any world and I will die to keep her safe and happy. I dont care who or what comes knocking, I will shieldbash them into the next millennia if they so much as look at her with dubious intentions!
Also Evie is adorable to the extreme even without being able to talk. The signs are a perfect touch, but I would love to see Jimmy just randomly pop up and say "Why didn't you teach her Sign Language?" Right at the end of a chapter.
