Very cool game!

(1 edit)

Hey! Just played it again, highest I got today was 49 which is pitiful! But I shall be back with a better score

This jump is heavy! It's a bit annoying as I can't time my jumps properly (especially when I'm trying to clear 3 spikes) but I also think it's a bit of a learning curve as well as I did get used to it somewhat. So the jump itself is challenging. If that was the plan, well done!

Also, I don't know my score til the end. It would be nice to know my score as I'm playing. I'm going to assume that your aim was for a very minimalistic art style so having a UI may go against that. So what you could do is find a way to mark the position where a player last got to. Could do this with a spike/square that's white (marking where the player previously died), and once the player goes past that point, the spikes/track flashes white (like a celebration).

But the art style and retro music is clean! Really adds a different flavour to a simple game.

Collecting "points" doesn't really make the game interesting because it looks like it's only a small bonus. So a small improvement could be making collecting more rewarding. Obvious way would be to increase the bonus by a lot more and really emphasise it with sound fx and added visual (humans are silly beings, we get excited by flashy things lol).

Another way would be to add a high score list but that's a maybe. I think you could take some ideas from Subway Surfers and have timed bonus abilities that make a huge a difference to your end points total.

One thing I did enjoy was the movement and dodging those whirlpools and rocks. A cool situation was trying to collect those "points" near rocks and "whirlpools", which added a bit of thrill to the game - collecting while not get hurt/damaged/stunned. Adding more moments like that would be increase the excitement of the game.

All in all, I enjoyed it! :)

Edit: I'm such a clown. I played this while muted lol! My point about the sound fx still goes though. For example, have the pitch of the sound increase a bit when you collect a coin within a small time frame.

nice simple game! low key new addiction. It would be great if you hit two or more balls at the same time, you get bonus points. Kinda like how in Super Mario Bros, if you land on two goombas at the same time, you get bonus points.

I managed to get to level 7 -  that level is extremely dificult. Also, not sure if this is on purpose or not but there's no sound. The controls for the cat were okay, a bit of coyote time would be nice just to make timing the jump easier. Also those clouds on level 3!! lol I didn't know you could jump on them so was a bit stuck trying to jump a huge gap. I even thought that I had to run and jump to cross the gap until I accidentally landed on the cloud.

This is a very fun game! Took me a while to get use to the movement, that was quite the challenge. But once I got the hang of it, I enjoyed the flow of things. Very rhythmic when you get into the flow it. Reminded me of the lumosity game 'Ebb and Flow'(no pun intended). Anyways, great game. I would say remove the flying obstacles though - it's difficult just learning simple movement, to then add dodging may be a bit much. If anything, that could be for higher stages when you feel the player has strong grasp of how the game works.

Fun simple relaxing game!

Found that very challenging but rewarding at the end after I completed it. I wish I could see my previous attempt's trajectory like in angry so I can make better adjustments.

If this is gonna be Celeste 2 then yesssssssssss!!! Take my money now!!
