The graphics are great, the sound started LOUD, but the slider did enough to get the sound to a comfortable level. One of my chatters said the sound and aesthetic remind them of Jet Set Radio (note: I have not played that)

A few recommendations:
Allow right shift to be sprint as well. I noticed I could use WASD as well as the arrow keys to move around. I am HORRID with WASD controls, but arrow keys are fine.

Please add controller support if possible. I could only play for about an hour or so before having to stop due to wrist pain. Any action based games that are keyboard/mouse do this to me. As such, I was only able to get to level 4 of the first world before I had to stop. That, and that level was so frustrating. I was SO CLOSE so many times and then the ball either glitched out spectacularly, or it fell off and I had to reset the ball. 😆😆

Checkpoints are a life saver, thank you for having those. I also really enjoyed the Not Mario and Not Bowser characters present, as well as all the silly things you could punch/interact with.

Will there be music added to the individual levels?

I played this with Plabs and BricksParts, and I know one of the devs showed up in the chat. I had vtubestudio and discord issues, so had to bail early. We talked about boss fights, difficulty spikes, and a few other things that are apparently all in development.

Graphics are cute, music is great, and OH BOY does it get chaotic after level 5. Still, a lot of fun, even with the little ring toss mini game. That's cute! Controls are easy and even in a "trial-by-fire" method, it still is easy to figure out, generally. Frank was a bit confusing, but we figured out how to use him a bit more as we played. He can definitely be an asset! This has a lot of solid potential and am looking forward to the full version!

Vod can be found here. Gameplay takes a while to get in to, as we were trying to get stream together to work, fully starting around 40:00 in

Yes! Press F4 while the player is open!

My monitors both have 2560x1440 resolution. I was messing around in OBS settings just a bit ago and still no success. 🤷‍♂️

Glad you enjoyed the stream and the commentary! It was an enjoyable story!🥰

You had a double post, so I removed one of them.

Thank you for playing and enjoying my game! I know that rpg maker 2003, being an old engine, can cause some mild annoyance with installation, but I'm glad you got it working easily!

Two days? Wow! You got a lot done in such a short time! 👍👍👍
As for the wrist issues, that's a *me* thing. Low intensity games are a non-issue with keyboard/mouse. Fast action games, fps, I'm wrecked in 15 minuntes.
Still, it's a solid concept/starting point! Hope this keeps going/growing!

Well, where do I begin? Perhaps I shall start on a warm, sunny day in Japan, where the cherry trees are blooming and the air smells *lovely*

The graphics, the storytelling, the connection to real life events, the music/sound fx, all excellent! I took QUIIIIIIIIITE longer than the anticipated hour, but there was a lot of side commentary. I can partially relate to what the character is referring to--just moving from one state to another in the USA can be such a shock. The way one feels out of place when they discover a new place, the pangs of homesickness.

I had a feeling the story was going to go the way it did. I made sure to save/ quicksave right before the Big Decision and I'm glad I did. Got to see both ending paths, and WHOOOAAAAA. Well done. Also, the way you tied in the title to the game. Brilliant!

An issue I had was when going to fullscreen mode, on my primary screen the scenes changed, but my mouse disappeared. On the stream, it was stuck on the "preferences" menu. Windowed mode worked perfectly fine. This issue occurs in the first 10 minutes.

Overall, an absolutely beautiful story, well written, emotional. I hope lots of people get to experience this!

Hi there! Gave the game a try. It's cute with a simple premise. I played the browser version, didn't try the downloadable version.

It was a bit confusing at first, but I got the hang of how to play rather quickly. The one hit kill was confusing at first--I thought Power was health, not strength needed to pick up rocks. Once I understood how that mechanic worked, I did fine, except against the boss. He wrecked me each time 🤣

Occasionally, I'd get a little bug when changing difficulty/swapping in and out of full screen where in order to move the camera, I had to hold down the left mouse button. Also, sometimes the camera would SPAAAAZZZZZZ out and I'd get discombobulated before it recovered.

If possible, please add controller support. I had to stop playing after about an hour, as my wrists cannot handle kb/m too well. Thankfully it was not a stressful game.

Sometimes the rocks would not be able to be picked up, even if i had the power, unless the camera was *just right* also, there were times where I couldn't find rocks or enemies. If possible, a minimap with enemy locations and rock locations would help tremendously.

Overall, there's a lot of great potential for this!

I played the browser version.
What the heck was this game? 🤣🤣🤣🤣The premise is quite cool, actually--a cartoon donkey on a hoverboard collecting items/letters that matched the letter on screen. I could see this being useful for kids--provided there was some "Cleanup" if you will (tame it down to G/PG). As it is, it's quite hilarious. I did not expect a pair of buttcheeks to show up, but then you ARE a donkey, and ass--well, you get the joke 🤣

Controls are fine and easy to use. Music is LOUD. If there's a way you can add in an option to adjust volume, that would be great. I was surprised to see that you could actually *win* in the game. Maybe add in a "collect 100 items to win" at the start, or however many the total is needed.

Hi there! You were in my stream, so you got to see everything. The game is quite fun, the premise is cute, and the controls are fairly solid. The biggest issue was definitely the way that reloading was bound to R3 on controller, as simply moving around trying to shoot caused me to reload so frequently that several battles were tougher than necessary. Still, I managed!!

One other binding I'd recommend is for select to cancel the menu as well as pull it up. And, if possible have "B" (the rightmost button on the right side) also be the cancel for menus.

And then there was the crash after beating the second boss. For anyone reading, there was an unexpected bug where after I beat the boss of world 2, the game had a fatal error.  I still thoroughly enjoyed the demo!!!

Full VOD available here, gameplay starts around 14:00. Fatal error is at 2:50:35

I played the browser version, not the downloaded version, so I'm not sure if that would have made a difference. The game felt a bit laggy/not smooth through most of my playthrough. I adjusted my refresh rate in settings to 120, and later unlimited. I also set my resolution to match my monitor's resolution, but it still had laggy moments. I have a high-speed, wired connection, so not sure if it's on itch's side or what 🤷‍♂️

Overall, I like what's going on. It reminded me a bit of Jump King, which I have seen be played before. The controls were a bit touchy, but I managed fairly well. Made it to the 8th level of the first climb, but didnt finish it. The different merchants are quite cute. The rewards for challenges is a great way to keep players playing and getting better gear.

Hahahaha, cute game! I liked the option to switch to ginger ale as a non-alcoholic alternative. The art is cute, and the world map has a level of charm that makes me want to explore it!
Puzzles were tricky at times, but once you got them *a-ha* Thank you for allowing a way to back-up your moves in case you get stuck, which I did a lot. (Skill issue 🤣)
The humor and slow reveal of "just what the hell happened last night??" was solid. Game ran smooth and sounded great!

Can this be used in rpg maker 2003?

The solution was found--press F5 while playing the game to open up the options menu!

Thank you for playing my game! I'm glad I was able to catch the end part of your stream. Now answer a few of your questions concerns: the majority of sprites and assets are indeed stock rpg maker 2003 assets. The music and sound effects are as well. Some of the sprites/characters/assets came from asset packs made by either rpgmaker forum users or other external sources. Some sprites were modified by myself using aseprite. This is a primarily for-fun project.

As for the battles, I am able to remove the "fight/auto/escape" menu by changing the battle menu option, which does put the menu at the bottom of the screen. And for the castle room with the clipping--fixed that! I also have fixed the lore part about Rey's father.

I enjoyed your ranting/commentary about the various animals that can/cannot talk. 🤣🤣

Thank you for playing!!! Glad you enjoyed the silliness of the game so far.

To make the player bigger, press F4. That'll make it fullscreen. Also, you can save anywhere on the overworld, just like classic Final Fantasy games!

Quick updates:

Fixed the text box to have a solid look instead of transparent. Added a couple of npcs.

I guess you could call it a *shocking* revelation 🤣

If anything, I'd say make the tutorial/prologue an optional level.

Very cute game, pleasant aesthetic, and solid controls. Plus it works with my controller, woohoo!  Gameplay was fun and clever, and the bonus at the end was a treat. The cross promo was clever--well played. EDIT--fixed youtube link

This game has a cute premise and music, but a few things about it:

Please show the controls on screen. While easy to figure out, I was lost at first, and others could be as well. Also, the music is extremely LOUD. Could you lower it a bit and/or add a music volume slider if possible?

I got to level 5 and somehow caused a massive glitch/error, and was unable to escape the level. Please include a way to pause/restart the level in case something like this happens.

Cute, cozy, easy game, simple controls. The soundtrack was enjoyable; felt like a trance music track.

Thank you for playing and the feedback! Also, WOW congrats on beating the optional superboss. I turned the transparency OFF and that seems to make the dialogue boxes easier to read.

The comb and the talon you found do have uses, but those will be unlocked in the full version.

First comment!
The demo is QUITE long, including the tutorial and first main mission. I streamed for approximately 4 hours and didn't finish the first mission. That's not a complaint; the dungeons are large and you have to explore EVERYTHING. I died several times, but that's not a game over, which is helpful. The enemies can be BRUTAL.
I was able to move back and forth from the game to my other screen (2 screen setup) and the mouse moved between them comfortably and the game didn't minimize when I clicked on the other screen. WOOHOO (a lot of games do that, c'est la vie)

Controls are easy enough to use, and controller is supported. Yay! Each level is a bit of a grind, but once you get used to the "go in, fight, return, fight more, upgrade" style, it gets easier.
Solid graphics, fun music.

Thanks for playing!!!
The silly jokes and puns are going to be fairly common, as it breaks up the seriousness with silliness--Spaceballs is a huge influence.
I wasn't sure how high to set drop rates. I want this to be easy-ish, like Mystic Quest, while providing an overall fun experience.
Thanks again!!!!

I stream Mondays starting at 1130am Pacific, and Tuesdays starting at 730pm Pacific (GMT-8). Streams usually last for 3 hours. I'll post the games I'm playing on bluesky and in every discord channel that lets me self promo.

Goodings of day to you all! I'm Rob, a voice over talent, vtuber (I'm a robot vtuber: RoboRob!) and general goofball. I primarily stream indie games. I was part of FeedbackQuest 7 and it was a ton of fun! Looking forward to this year's for sure!
I also have started dabbling in game development, and am making a silly rpg that's a love letter to, and parody of, the 16-bit jrpgs I grew up with. I'm using rpg maker 2003 to make it, and stream RPG Maker Mondays every Monday, so I can get this project further along!

I played this on stream for Feedback Quest 7. The VOD has been posted to youtube; game starts at 1hr 40 min in

This game is so silly, but fun, and HARD. I played on an xbox compatible controller for pc. Controls were fine and smooth. Thank you for adding in an auto fire feature! Sometimes when I was trying to dodge attacks, I accidentally clicked the left stick down/in which caused my ship to fly slower. I'm not sure if binding the slowdown to one of the left buttons, such as Left Trigger, would make this easier. It's fine otherwise.

I wish there was a health power-up the way you can also get shield power-ups, as there were times where I got obliterated and needed just one more health to have survived. Also, it's easy to miss unlocks. Maybe add a "stage select" or similar after a mission is complete the first time so that you can go back in and play the 2nd part, where you get ship unlocks, instead of having to redo the whole mission.

The ship with rotating shields was a solid option, as was the indestructible ship. The final ship that unlocks, the iron one, might be better if unlocked early and the tiny ship be the last one, since that ship is the hardest one to do anything with (it does provide a huge difficulty spike!)

Good fun overall!!!

Hi there, this is a review from feedback quest 7!

I've uploaded my stream to youtube and you can find it here; game starts around 8 mins in:

I played on controller--an xbox compatible one. The controls are fine overall. I didn't quite get the combo-ing, nor so the pull-and-launch, but did the best I could. The game is definitely challenging, even on normal difficulty. Insane difficulty--the hardest--certainly lives up to the name!

One thing I would suggest is to slow down the text disappearance rate. I was trying to voice act the lines and sometimes they went away too quickly!

I uploaded it to youtube; this link starts at the exact switch over!

Game is cute, albeit a little janky. Strangely, I'm fine with the jank--it gives the game an extra challenge/quirk! I like the art style and the old timey feel as well.

I'm surprised there isn't a catnip powerup. 🤣

Tried the demo for Feedback Quest 7. Pretty fun overall, love the character design and the voice acting! Some of the enemies felt a bit like damage sponges. The sandwich minigame isn't intuitive--I just spammed buttons until I got it to work. Otherwise, pretty good!

I found a graphical glitch in the Castle, which occurred when I went into a corner. Can send the clip if you'd like. Also, several times the characters would keep running in place or there was a sound like they were still running during cut scenes.

Keep up the good work!

Fun little pinball game, really liked the A E S T H E T I C and chill vibes. I thought the way the 2nd table changed was really cool.

One suggestion: add a tilt feature or some way to shake the ball in case it gets stuck. Around 25 min into the vod (can send a clip if you'd like), you'll see that the ball got stuck on the breakable barrier, between the barrier and the point giving piece (idk how to describe it). I racked up a hilariously high score, but had no way to dislodge the ball, so had to quit back to menu. Otherwise, a fun and chill pinball game!

Incredibly cute and colorful game. Controls are smooth, music is great. There's plenty of challenge, especially on the harder difficulty.

One bug was found, where if you encounter a shopkeeper, all your powerups are wiped out and can make a run impossible. Eek! Otherwise, looking forward to the final release!
