It's not like Itch.io has a choice, they are a much smaller company than Valve (notice how they are the ones that have been forced to take it down while Steam stays up). And at the end of the day, it's a battle with the actual payment processors, literally their entire income is at risk if they don't comply. turn your energy towards Visa and Mastercard, contact lawmakers, and support movements against this policing. Can't guarantee it will work, but it is gonna be a hell of a lot more productive than sitting here bitching at Itch.io, who are victims just like the devs (albeit to a lesser degree) if we are being completely honest.
