Cheers! Yeah the retro synth thing is always fun

Yeah I would have liked to give it a bigger middle 8 palate cleanse section and/or let it go round a few more times at the end. I just kept it short and sweet this time since it’s a loop. And I didn’t want to keep adding and possibly ruin it yknow?

It’s good that listeners want more though! Could be worse haha

Aaaaahh! I mean, it’s not about winning! But that’s a really nice thing to say haha. Awesome to get feedback like that. Glad you enjoyed it!

Chers, I appreciate it

Cheers

I was definitely in two minds about how much bite everything should have. My original version was much smoother, with everything dunked in reverb. I went back and made some bits darker and drier at the end. I wanted a bit of grit somewhere in there. I think by that point I'd had enough of fiddling with the synth haha! Good advice

Glad you enjoyed! That’s all I want really

I figured you were doing something like that! An intro then a shorter loop. I like it even more then!

First thing I noticed is it's a bit quiet - I had to turn my monitors way up to hear the low strings. But once I did it was geat! It feels like the fight starts 1 min in, I'm not sure if that was what you were going for or not. It might cause trouble if you wanted to loop it in a real game, because the energy would drop every time it goes to the start. But you could make it work with small tweaks. Overall really good music!

Probably scores the highest for originality out of everything I've listened to so far! It's great

Quite original! It sounds like Little Nightmares to me. It's unnerving. Excellent!

Really nice! I think I agree with some other commenters here. It could benefit from a contrasting section with more energy. It doesn't have to go full epic mode (I actually like the slow methodical feeling here, feels like it would suit a strategic game) but maybe a change of instrumentation before circling back to the theme

Thanks! I like yours!

I like this one - especially the middle section where the rhythm changes up. I would have liked it to go bigger at the end though. Really let those chords soar! Blast the theme out on the horns, etc!

I love how you went for the slow tempo here. Feels ominous and serious and climactic. Total opposite approach that I took! You smahed it though

I love the final rush from 2mins to the end. Feels really hectic but melancholic too. Like riding a fairground ride with someone you won't see again. Keep making cool stuff like this!

Nice - it's got the feeling of a multi-stage boss battle. Very creative set of sounds too

MAATTTTEE that surprise! I won't spoil it for anybody reading but that was some masterful misdirection! I actually couldn't stop myself smiling like an idiot. I play *that instrument* I'm interested to know - did you play that first bit or is it a sample? Either way its sick

Very creative instrumentation choice with the chimes/glock (?) part. Comes accross very creepy. Feels like a horror game boss.

I like the slow burn on this one! The way it settles down at the half way point and then the theme comes back angrier. Really cool

I really like it! My constructive feedback would be that I'd like more of a change of pace/instrumentation somewhere along. But that might just be my taste

I love it! Feels like I'm having a boss fight against a DJ

This is very creative! Need to be careful here before I get addicted and have another cookie clicker situation... Good work

Thunder rumbles, rain pummels the ground, the stage is set for a battle of ages! Two combatants, enemies for more years than they can count, now stand opposite from one another. One of them will not leave this place alive.

 "I'm going to enjoy this."

Anyway, here's my submission for the Boss Fight music jam! I had fun with it and I hope you have fun listening! It's my first time doing this fully synth, chip-tune type music, but I think it came together pretty well. More experienced composers, I'd love to hear your feedback in the comments

Cheers!

Soundtrack's a real highlight for me... ;)
