i have never known poverty more than my single playthrough on normal mode. genuine kudos this game was so easy to get the swing of (esp since i skipped lit all the dialogue at the start) and even easier to get invested in (you got me to open itch out of school mission impossible) i was lowkey heartbroken when i saw i beat it on easy cuz i was having so much fun LOL.. absolutely not trying on hard mode. keep it up !!

you dont even know how excited i am for the next chapters to come out, please take your time to make it just as good as chapter 1 !!!!! i wish i could say i had a mc preference but i replayed this about 50 times (cuz my progress kept deleting) and im genuinely intrigued in every single one of ours mcs. alsooo ik we wont be seeing them a lot BUT PLEASE MORE JAX THEY HAVE MY HEART AND SOUL !!!
also, just a personal thank you, because when i play IF games it feels like the creator had.. an idea for the protags gender ig? sometimes the dialogue and the way the character is treated you can tell the author is imagining a woman or a man or a certain ethnicity, but with this i honestly didnt even notice any subtle dialogue like that ! it took so long to realize that it was so easy to imagine my protag in the story because it was very,, unassuming. i think it takes a lot of effort to get that done well, and you got it done AMAZING, so honestly kudos.

WAITT I WAS THINKING THE EXACT WAY WITH THE TWO OF THEM TALKING !! itwas so jolly and joyous until it wasnt, even *i* felt betrayed ! i just discovered this game so seeing this description of the original demo is so intruiging !! i like what the game is currently and this makes me happy i happened to find it now.
omg yes i was thinking this same way. i mostly gave tommy the silent treatment since i was pretty sorry for both of them. imagine summonning this cool ass demon that wants to be your friend and then suddenly you make them forget everything they know about themself, and then imagine being said demon. disappointment all around i fear
oh my GOD this was probably the best demo ive ever seen of anything in my entire life and im literally so hype for the rest to come out.
MY OBSERVATIONS AND THOUGHTS !!
it honestly took me a few hours to even get to chapter one, i was talking with my friends for most of it and even then there were so many cool options and dialogue that tommy and his peers could share, i was like enamored with all of it. this was seriously so cool, the conversation between everybody just came so natural and its like theyre really people and theyre there yknow?
OH MY GOD AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE MUSIC THAT SHIT ACTUALLY FUCKS !!!!! at the beginning screen i was like "oh cool theres background music" and then when the game finally started and that cool title screen music came on i just felt something awaken in me, and i deaduzz felt this every time i heard that "zorlok" title music its actually so cool. kudos to whoever made that, it was so awesome... the actual background music was also very nice, not overwhelming, honestly really nice to have while i was chatting away with my friends
most interactive games like this will let you choose what your mc looks like n allat but duuduue dued dued dude dude this one was just different. DONT ASK ME HOW, IT WAS JUST DIFFERENT it was so soo cool and awesome and really better then anything else ive seen idk how to describe it you just did such a cool awesome job bro
maybe my memory is serving me wrong but so far i havent seen any intro to an IF game like this start the way this has. usually we start as, well.. us, and we get to choose what we look like n allat but i liked the idea of us starting as tommy and learning this this and that about him and just UFH this is so cool bro your absolutely wonderful. i feel like im glazing but dude finishing this at 6am was such an experience and i must express it to YOU, dear developer
i promise this is the last thing. the game takes place in washington but im pretty sure your british, or atleast not from america. im not from washington either but idk anybody in the US who calls their pants "trousers" or says "bloody hell". this isnt criticism, i just thought it was kinda silly how i noticed all those little things and u probably didnt even realize u wrote it in

im loving this so much !! its kinda hard for me to tell when ive seen all the content but all the leads i have arent implemented so im assuming i gotta wait for a next update

when speaking to yvette about what you've figured out theres an error message about the painting (i think only seen if you havent picked that religious identity at the start)
when you try getting ozzy with the KC it says that you get a new lead called "midnight playground" but when i check my leads to see what it is its not there. "midnightplayground" does not exist

SO looking forward to when all these leads and quests ive collected finally get put in, im so intrested in the doctor and looking at the leads about him foraging and his old debt is really teasing me !! theres some real good world building im loving it

i started this about 4-ish days ago and around the time i started chapter 10 i had begun thinking about my mcs job. it reminded me of the deportation and ICE problem happening in LA, and if i tried justifying my mc by saying "its just their job" it made me think of nazi germany,, so i figured if i were them i wouldnt have that job, esp now
and then i get to chapter 11 and 12 and it lowkey addressed exactly what i was thinking and i was so happy about that. i feel like this could be a rlly good critique on those with privilage, depending on how u go about it
ASIDE FROM THAT I JUST LOVELOVELOVEEE ALL THE CHARACTERS and how our mc really feels like us. i also like how the focus is on the story but the CHOICE of romance is there, it feels like we rlly know our priorities. i wish there was a more neutral option about dating since im aromantic, but even then the dating options could still be seen as friendly and its not forced on us very often.
OVERALL I LIKE HOW ITS GOING SO FAR, I ALSO FOUND OUT AFTER REACHING THE END OF CHAPTER12 THAT THE GAME KEEPS TRACK OF US (like how stoic i am or weather im good at traps) AND I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS SOOO COOL. I CANT WAIT FOR MORE !!!

at first it reminded me of another game on here that i can never remember the name of, but it also had a character named carter which is what drew me to this. So happy i clicked !!
i absolutely love how much detail we can give to ourself, and i especially love that the game hints to you being a person of color by default. like when choosing your appearance the first options are dark skin and coily hair, and then as we go it gives your more european features. i just felt rlly happy about that after always seeing the default character be typically white.
i also loved the inclusivity for gender, and how the started character is hinted to be trans. i loved the binder and trans scars, and even tho i didnt pick them myself it made me happy seeing my community being represented <33

if you dont let me romance that damn kestrel girl i swear to god i will start a riot. also, i had a second save where i was a little nicer to renard because in my first one i was really mean, and now i feel like starting a 3rd save where im nicer to zander cuz FUCK im so rude to him and i just now realized hes not that bad when i accidentally entered his room. i thought he was spooky and scary since he seems to be on bad terms with carter but i think im just putting to much faith in my old man and fucking up all possible relationships (platonic or not)

ofcourse, as always. PERFECT ART !!!! waaaah i love the artstyle and the character designs and just how diverse it all looks and feels, the lineart being kinda blurry or uneven just makes it so good to look at and you guys just did so awesomesauce as always
THE CHARACTER WAAAAAH THEYR ESO GOOODD !!!! your other games i feel are much more story driven (especially so since theyre longer) and obviously they have character but this one i feel focuses sooo much more on interaction and personality and just making the characters feel so real. they all have their own dynamics and blend so wonderfully with one other. you can see the little trio/duos in the group but they all get along so well as one unit and it truely feels like no one is left out. reminds me of my own friendgroup a lot :)
the creepy shots in this are so. good. SOO GODFODD DGRPDGUEGEJ i was actually sooo spooked oh my goddd. when we first go to the buffet and that weirdo guy grabs our hand i my stomach actually dropped, and when mcwhatever was chugging water? CHILLS !!! especially since the game really nailed everybodys mood and personality so seeing that get totally flipped in such a short time is sooo scary ! you know mcboy is happy and silly, you know that carmen is super comfortable and carefree, you know that von is playfully snarky, so when you see them act totally wrong it wrenches your gut and leaves you not only scared and concerned but also hurt.
ok im glazing, im a sucker for character interaction. dont even get me started on ryan,, AND JUNE AND RYAN... and jsut
my complains areeeee pretty standard from what ive seen. the game was really short and i wish we got more time to play around with all the characters. studio investigrave is pretty horror focused on most of their games (atleast the endings are) but i feel like this game couldve done really well as just like a cute thingy. maybe a spin off would be cool? something different from their usual vibe, because i feel like if expanded upon people could really become attatched to these characters !
ofcourse the ending was very abrupt and confusing. i replayed it a few times because i was sure i missed something that would give me a longer finish, but no. you just end at the ocean. (however this is not an entirely bad thing. ive had fun all day wondering what happened and trying to think of theories !! just wish we had more to go off of)
ok thats it. those were my only complaints, and one of them wasnt even a full complaint it since it was half compliment. i really like this game, i wish it was longer, and i think you guys did really good considering it was made in one month. i could neverr !! i hope you guys will expand on it or make a spin off, or i hope to see LOTS of fanart of these dudes atleast. even if u dont, excited to see your next game ! stay fantastical -johnny
