Thanks for reporting this! I haven't touched store items for a while so they definitely need to be reviewed. Regarding the quests I think I know what causes that, I'll make sure that everything gets fixed soon.

I hadn't considered a gacha mechanic yet but it's an interesting idea. In the future I planned to have certain students be unlocked through certain quests/conditions although that's not quite the same.

Maybe some sort of Scouting mechanic could work for this gacha feel. I'll be sure to consider it for future updates.
