I liked the puzzles. That last one stumped me for a bit. Also, the goal being starting a computer is a pretty good use of the theme.

This looks like the beginning of a pretty good game. It looks nice, and it plays well! For being your first game, this very well done.

This was pretty fun. I liked how the upper route is hard to get to when you first start, then as you get faster it becomes more accessible. It was also really satisfying and fun at those parts where you can go sliding is series while you sprint!

One note, though: There was a part of the track that I sometimes seemed to get softlocked at for some reason. It only happened twice, and it didn't really ruin the experience for me, but I thought you might want to know so that you can fix it when the jam is over if you wanted to.

NOTE: This has a few bugs that I wasn't able to iron out before the submission period ended. Though, I was able to make a late submission, and you can find the updated version here: https://temporalthunderstorm.itch.io/back-to-the-start-window-res-made-smaller

It is a little buggy. Sorry about that! I didn't get to really playtest it. I didn't have all that much time to work on it (because of work and stuff). The goal was to use the blue stuff to get to the "beginning" of the level, so you can get the boss key to open the door (You start near the end of the level, so you have to "backtrack"). Thanks for giving a try, though!

Also, if you want to play a version of the game that is less buggy, I was able to do a late submission, which fixes the worst of the bugs. The url is: https://temporalthunderstorm.itch.io/back-to-the-start-window-res-made-smaller.

(1 edit)

Yeah. I ran out time and didn't really get to finish or playtest it, so it's a little buggy XD. The point of the blue stuff was actually to progressively "go back in time" to the beginning of the level. The story is that you got to the boss door, but you forgot the boss door key which is at the beginning of the level. However, there are gates that close behind you, so you have to collect "past pieces" to progressively get there (and get some key items along the way). There was probably a glitch that let you pass through the gate, though. Whoops!

I really liked this. The concept of you needing to repair the game  with all the widgets and stuff being sentient or obstacles was pretty creative. Also, I must say, you made a pretty nice, fairly polished game for this being your first game jam!

All the animation in this game is really good, but the actually game play was a little barebones. Going back and forth to the motor was a little tedious, but I think if you added some kind of obstacles or something it might boost the entertainment value a bit.

This was pretty fun in the first few minutes. Though, after a few minutes, I was so powerful that I couldn't lose even when I tried! Some suggestions I have are to maybe have the amount of enemies gradually increase  and/or make upgrades cost more exp after each upgrade. Also, I liked how smooth the animation was and how smooth the game played.

Btw, there seems to be a glitch where objects like the artifacts and shield simply turn invisible, but still exist when they shouldn't be able to interact anymore. Eg. when you collect an artifact, the "collect artifact" sound effect still plays when passing through the area where the artifact was.

I like the idea behind this. It has good potential. Though, it is pretty hard right off the bat. I think having the first few levels be easier would give the player time to get experience with the it.
