my 2 -82000 hydrogen bombs combined with the power-up that squares numbers that go through the minus sign, possibly with other power-ups that I forgot about because I couldn't check them after obtaining them, dealing like 3e11 damage while the bosses were barely at 2e7, in the beginning it was fun but then it got quite boring as the bosses were scaling really slowly & there were never any good rewards, dare I say there were mostly only detrimental rewards, apart from the rare x2 that landed on my 2 military weapons. I got to level 89, a plus boss ended me despite my "positive numbers deal damage too" power-up, my 9 turns & my 7-card large deck to consistently draw my 2 monuments (I got a "turn all numbers negative" followed by a "mirror 2 cards" & a "remove all negative numbers", so I got a deck with only 2 massive cards)

got 142 playing by scrolling with the mouse wheel. I tried to play by scrolling on the trackpad but I need like atom-perfect dexterity to avoid doing 2 inputs at once. really cool game, I wish I had more fancy controllers to play this on

Illicit Substance: The Game. the visuals are amazing, the music fits really well, the countdown-shaped levels are creative, each level having its own style of shape (e.g. spiky, squiggly, line-y) is really cool too, it would've been nice if one of the hard levels wasn't one that's super tight but one that's less tight & has no +5s pickups so the difficulty comes more from the time constraint than from the precision, because I never felt any pressure from the timer

this game is so fun!!!! I love the fast pace of the game with the loop of shooting then throwing your gun then picking up the new gun dropped by the killed cirno, & I also like the difficulty of the game (I personally like difficult games). do NOT make it so that the music continues where it stopped when you died, hearing a new part of the music as you're playing & beating your longest time is really satisfying & motivates you to lock in even more

this is hell, it's so difficult, usually I keep waiting for the correct letters to show up, somehow my opponent steals like five words in the meanwhile, & the few times I get the required letters for a word & I start linking them, there's a letter that flies into the cursor trail & ruins the word, or there's a bomb tile that explodes like 200 meters above & that flies away all my letters. but the aesthetic of the game is fantastic, the music is music to my ears, the idea is absolutely yipee wowie crazy, 2 eggs jumping from space?? playing scrabble in the sky??? everything about this game is awesome!! except the difficulty!!

this game is very cute & the music is nice. it would be nice if there was a way to check what the enemy is capable of doing. the timing-based spell selection is a nice physical skill addition, though it would've been awesome if you went more into this feature, e.g. making it so the enemy can speed up the timer, having a spell to slow it down, or a spell that quintuples your damage but also speeds up the timer, a status effect that deals you damage if you land on an even timer, etc. Right now it's a simple turn-based combat game with a little selection gimmick, but it has a lot of potential to be an amazing game

this game is dead simple & it's incredibly fun I love it, it gets really tense once you start seeing the bomb & it gets even more tense the closer you are to exploding, once you miss the green zone a few times the fire starts going really fast & the music starts to play, it's so well made, I can't find anything bad to say about this game, it's peak

120.65 seconds byt he way

120.65 seconds, this game is dead simple & it's really fun, it gets so tense once you start seeing the bomb, I love it

I don't understand what you mean by "the pattern of keys doesn't necessarily reflect the relative movement of the notes", could you explain it more please?

You're right, the bar should've had more information, as it is some of the rhythm changes are too quick to react to. I should fix it sometime after the jam

Thank you for your feedback :D

Thank you for your feedback :D

I noticed early that the bar at the bottom wasn't very human reaction time-friendly but I couldn't find a better one & preferred to focus on the rest of the game, also I thought maybe by simply plainly writing "LISTEN" & "REPEAT" the tutorial would be clear enough, though I didn't get any feedback from the places where I shared the game during development

Once the jam is over, I'll very probably update the game at least to fix the display & probably also improve the tutorial
