I ended up getting a busted build with a lot of double swords and eyes almost one shotting bosses hehe

The gameplay, sounds and visuals are really nice! I've never seen a poker-inspired game like this but it's awesome.
Maybe the "stand still" strategy is a little OP with every red/blue dealing/healing 3 haha

Not too bad for a first run I think! Still sad I couldn't get to floor 200 though.

How is this project related to Die in the Dungeon Classic? I'm confused. Is it the same author? Is it a fan game?

Regardless of that, the game is a lot of fun!

The game is a lot of fun! Believe me or not, it does remind me of moments when I was climbing haha. I especially like that the gameplay naturally unfolds from the physics of the game. Congrats!

I'd suggest to make the cursor more visible though. I often happened to be searching my cursor, which was quite frustrating in tense moments. I personally felt the need to change the css of the canvas with "cursor: crosshair;".

Really cool game! Everything is so polished!

I was initially quite frustrated by the fact it played automatically, but actually, it just focuses the gameplay on the deckbuiling aspect of card games (and it's great!)

I'm a big fan of the Weaver's stalling strategies and the super aggressive Henry (managed to 1 turn kill every opponent at the end). It's really nice that every win condition can come up in a clash (except maybe for decking out).

The burn mechanic is indeed awesome! It really changes the usual dynamic. It could be more explicit though.

I had exactyl the same strategy!
Double freeze, double 9 bullets, double next attack bounces, with special ability that makes bouncing bullets pierce.
I only made it to lv 26 though, I got hit thrice because I froze just a tiny bit too late.

I'm really surprised someone came up with the exact same combo.

The red part is for volca (borukê) and blue indeed is ninja :D

I tried to stick to NES colours but maybe the palette I used was wrong haha.I admit I cheated for the platforms and spikes, I used invalid colours.

I'm glad you liked my title screen/volcano. You can use them of course, but don't feel pressured or anything right. It's ok if you don't make a post-jam version. I just got carried away one afternoon lol.

The lava isn't that threatening indeed except at the start of the level. That's what I tried to change for the most part. Here's a link of all the changes I made:

There is a sheet for lava_speed and a folder containing a few slightly changed sprites.

BIG FAN! I guess I got a little enthusiastic about the game because I downloaded the godot files and made a few tweaks x)

Changing some sprites and modifying the lava speed & its y position for every level to make lava more exciting. Even changed the volcano picture at the end and made a title screen but I didn't know how to implement it in godot.

I had an insane build but I got 1 shot by Malazar lmao

On paper I don't know if I would have wanted to play at it. But in practice I had so much fun exploring and making my little mech evolve. I also really like the fact you have to avoid the sun. It's an idea that I always found to be awesome but it's the first time I play a game that exploits it well. Congrats it's an awesome game!

GREAT! I never thought managing randomness could be fun as a player

Very funny concept! What I like is you can play very intuitively and make your system of mirrors grow naturally, or your could think about it very methodically. That concept definitely deserves to be developed into a more fleshed out game!

I got back to the game after months and I FINALLY MADE IT (1st try after getting back to the game). I feel accomplished. Thank you for making this game :)

I really like the turning back animation but the camera is poorly handled unfortunately.

I've been playing it for 2 days straight and really struggled to beat the game initially haha.
I finally found a reliable strategy to beat the game! (scythe that grows if fatal)
It's great to see you're still improving the game after the game jam. Looking forward to playing that update ^^
