Fun little minigame! Pretty clever usage of the 'don't blink theme as well. I did find a cheese that makes the game easier, if you always intentionally catch early on the fast balls, then you can just catch the slower balls with no penalty. Still challenging even with the cheese though, great job!

Sadly it takes a bit of time to complete the game, but if you want to make things easier here's some tips!

-Stagger your jolts a bit. You get the same amount of 'energy' regardless of if you spam it or if you wait a bit. Don't wait too long as there is a cap, but about 10ish seconds between each press should be good.

-Try to drink coffee whenever your caffeine drops to about 50%. I've found that's a good point where you can have coffee available as often as possible, without losing too much energy due to low caffeine.

-Your coffee cup has 3 uses before you need to refill. Additionally, once you have your third drink, instantly go to the coffee machine refill the cup. This will minimize the amount of time you can't refill your caffeine.

-While your coffee cup is refilling, you can go back to your computer and keep writing. I've found it's possible to do 1-2 additional minigames before your coffee is ready,  which optimizes your time as much as possible.

You mentioned that you weren't able to fish; if so, I'm very sorry about the bug! Here's some quick troubleshooting ideas off the top of my head if you want to try again:

-Make sure your game is "focused" by clicking inside the game with your mouse. This should already be the case since you have to click the title screen, but it may have gotten un-focused somehow?

-If you were able to cast your rod but nothing was biting, just try waiting a while; it takes a bit for the first fish to bite, and if you cancel it the timer resets. You may have cast, then canceled by accident? If you cancel, just press space again and wait.

-Try the downloadable version of the game. While I built this around browser play, the downloadable version should also work just the same, and it may not have the same bug.

If you have any more information about the bug (such as what browser you're using, or how to recreate it) please let me know! I'll push an update to fix it if I can.

Very cool game! Love the art style and the theming is very funny. I did have a few issues pop up with the clicking (new objects can overlap and eat clicks meant for older ones, it's hard to judge when you need to click the spaceship), but other than that, this is a very fun game, great work!

Thank you for letting me know about this! I didn't even know there was an itch.io launcher before your comment. I've disabled compression, which seems to have solved the issue, so it should be compatible with the launcher now. (If anyone encounters any issues that might be due to this, please let me know!) On it's own, the ring doesn't seem to do much! Perhaps it'd be best to check some other parts of the game first... Maybe you can find a way to use the odd shrine's advice?

Bigger hint: When you die, some odd numbers appear. Perhaps they correlate to this advice? Where else have you seen numbers?

All options have a number, but if you follow them from the start, there's no number 4. Perhaps something is hidden where you're expected to find it?

Apologies for not responding earlier! The game is possible to win; it's just supposed to be really frustrating (hence the gamejam theme), but I can tell how you'd think it's impossible. As long as you make enough micro-adjustments,  it should eventually work. If you're playing on an extremely small screen (like phone sized), you might need to zoom in a bit.  Sorry for the difficulties!

Loved the game! The art and creature designs are amazing, and the concept is really cool. Only issue I had was some confusion regarding combining, as I thought I had to combine using the cream to get ice cream, rather than putting it through a recipe first, but other than that it was easy to figure out how all the mechanics worked. Amazing work!

Loved this! Clever mechanics and great level design, plus the style is really cute. Noticed a few bugs, such as some layering issues that made it hard to click a few things, but regardless still great!

Fixed! Thanks for pointing out the issue, turns out the variable tracking the cost didn't get reset after each play. It should now work properly!

Love the game! Though, I think I found a major bug in New Game+. (MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE FINAL ZONE IN NEW GAME+)

For some reason rather than having his own skills like the rocktitan says, Mr. O has the abilities of the rest of the characters instead. This makes the arena section far harder (maybe impossible? idk I might just be bad) as you lack Reload, meaning you're stuck with 40 MP for each arena. I'm unsure how this bug was triggered sadly...
