Thanks! Actually Toss the Turtle was a big influence for this game, I'm probably a similar age haha. I agree, more upgrades would be nice. I was working on a more ambitious game in a completely different genre but when I realized I couldn't make that game in time, I pivoted to this last minute thinking it would be easy to finish. But even though it's pretty simple, I wasn't able to add all the upgrades I had in mind.

Funny and creative take on the theme, now I really want a chili dog! Unfortunately I can't get past the roof sequence the game freezes at that point (I tried on two separate browsers). Also I noticed a few bugs with the menu, the sound options don't seem to work also the controls part isn't implemented, clicking that button doesn't do anything. I like the game though and wanted to get through to the end but can't.
Nice art, I liked playing and seeing what the different gems did. For feedback I would say the enemies moved a little too fast and they bugged out a bit like getting stuck on a wall. The jump maybe should have a little more height or coyote timer, I had a hard time jumping on certain platforms, but that could also just be a skill issue on my part haha. Nice job!
This game has a lot of potential it was fun to go through the first level. Some sound effects would really enhance the game so the player can hear if there are spiders nearby or walking which would add another element of strategy to this. This was a really cool game though, I'm not sure what to do at the crystal part.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! This is my first game that wasn't just following a tutorial, so I had to learn a lot to make this. I wanted to make it longer, but I ended up breaking the game when I tried to add a new feature a little before the deadline so I was spending a lot of time just debugging that issue and was too scared to add more things to it since the deadline was fast approaching. I definitely want to add multiple levels at some point.
Thanks so much for the kind words, it means a lot to me that you enjoyed the game! I appreciate the feedback about the bullet damage and changing them to sprites. I playtested the game so much and it became so easy for me that I had a hard time gauging the difficulty so I made the bullets damage more but in hindsight maybe a bit too much haha.
I like the art style, this game was really charming and creative. If I were to give some feedback it would be to make the player move a little faster since the maps are so big. Also the weapons should be given to you maybe at each level instead of the two at the last level, because I felt I didn't get enough time to test the shotgun before I got the blue gun.
