I slammed down my monies to get this expansion (and the other) so fast I may have doppler shifted.  The bonus character creation options are AWESOME already and I'm going to retcon adding a few to my existing crewmembers and hey, I just had an opening in my crew!  

It crossreferences the original by page number which is terrific as well! There's an enormous variety of expedition types (arctic, grasslands, urban, etc)

Also PETS?!?! When is the weekend so I can dive in to play!  

Seriously, if you've never tried this base game, you're missing out. It's so well-thought-out and rich, esp with the now THREE expansions it's so great to play. I play more narratively so I SOMETIMES skip a few rolls (i don't pay attention to food as much as I should I'm so sorry author!!) but I've created a little four person crew that I've created a whole silly space opera from.  It really is one of my favorite games, and is explained so clearly and step by step with beautiful graphics (as is this expansion).  

Not really a tip but taking character creation super seriously has worked for me a lot! Each of my starter crew (my captain and the three basic crew members) got backstories created for them, so it's basically watching ALL of them interact with each new event, and if they agree with or disagree with the captain's decision. 

I bought a hardcopy version which is how much I love it! I've had an ongoing campaign for months with my character and have fleshed out the rest of the crew for the kind of space opera adventures I've always wanted. This is such an easy to access yet comprehensive game! 

I can't wait for the For Small Creatures updates! The base game itself is the first journaling game that I've really become devoted to--my captain and her little crew have had amazing adventures and the love and lust expansion is a great way to kickstart the relationships.  Please be assured I will ZOOOM over the second these new expansions come out to add to my binder for this amazing universe!
