As to what happens to the new trait system I'm not too sure... might be able to edit that in

Okay anyone with a broken save or 1.8A is not showing your save, I've found a fix for it all you have to do is take your 1.7 save make a copy of it and change its file type by removing .json to turn it into a file extension and rename from save.json to SAVE after you've done that navigate to NANOSAVE_0001: AppData\LocalLow\Arvus Games\Starmaker Story\Saves\NANOSAVE_0001 once in the folder open SAVE.GZ with 7zip and drag and drop your converted 1.7 save file into the 7zip window accept anything it asks of you then load the game back up. Honestly I don't recommend doing this there have been way to many changes to the save files, it would be better to start fresh
