Yes, the extension was quite a problem. I remembered that the jam was going to end, and when i checked? I had another day. This was a confusing change. The extension was needed, considering how many submissions were made at the time, but there was no warning.
I have to agree with you that that there needed to be a bit more things the submissions will be judged for, though I believe the jam host's focus was to see what other people can make, and rating comes second. That is why there was not much focus on judging and restrictions.
